Hey, I was thinking that I wanted to buy AoBR and convert the Ultramarines into Space Wolves. Can this be done? And if it can be done, what would I need to get to do it? Is it really possible? I wanted to know what Dakka thinks, 'cause let me just say, you gus are like my internet family. That's creepy....

only if you dont want your marines to have CCweapons the conversion would be a pain

It's not really that much of a stretch. They are generic space marines, so little touches of space wolfiness will suffice for the models, then some paint, obviously...

Aren't the AoBR marines dry fit?
Might make them little harder to convert...
If you're gonna do it pick up a wolf Pack box you could probably make another 10 marines as well as using the bits left over to convert your 15 marines from the AoBR

Just get a box of Space Wolves and use all the spare knives and tails and such to convert up the AoBR Marines.

That pretty much sums it up, plus you get those cool bits of terrain that come in the aobr box.

For Grey Hunters you can totally use the AoBR bits. Just paint them up in SW colors should suffice (Grey Hunters have bolters anyways). Some SW bits here and there and no one should be the wiser. The only problem is you can only use 9 of them as Grey Hunters, the last remaining ML guy will ahve to be a longfang.

They work alright.

They are very generic and there's very little room for converting them. You can add some tails/knives but that's about it.

The other problem is that the standard marines all have the Ultramarine Arrow molded onto their right shoulder pad. So if you don't want that, then you need to do a bit of work with a knife to get rid of it (I did and they look alright now).

The biggest benefits from the AOBR box are the Terminators and the Dreadnought. If you combine them with a box of Space Wolf Terminators you can easily get 10 Terminators for not much more cost than just 5.

I always thought that Arrow was the standard Tactical Arrow. Nevertheless it doesnt fit with the SW so I see your point.

What you've been told.

Also, don't forget to file down the tactical arrow on the left shoulder pads and they'll make fine Grey Hunters.

No terrain comes in AoBR. Macragge had a crashed lander, but AoBR's got nothing.
