If a dreadnought is immobilised (i presume this counts for all walkers), can it pivot to shoot in the shooting phase? During a recent game I was told that the "top" part of the walker/torso is alloed to spin and fire. After flicking through the BRB, I can't find anything. I don't think it's correct, but I can;t find anythign to contradict it other than
Immobilised Vehicles --> Cannot move or Pivot
Immobilised Walker = Immobilised Vehicle
Therefore it can't pivot.
So what's the deal?

No, it cannot pivot. It has no rules allowing it to do so.
Remember Kans and Deffdreads have no top half to spin, so saying "well the model can, so walkers can!" is wrong.

You are correct (no brb page sorry) in that an immobolized dread can't pivot. It might be in the section that's explains assaulting a walker etc.

But it does still have it fire arc, which is 180 degrees on a dreadnought if i'm not mistaken?
This would represent pivoting above the waistline and arm/mount movement.

You're mistaken, and thinking of 4th edition. And, not all dreadnoughts HAVE a waist to pivot around (Kans, for example)
In 5th edition hull mounted weaponry, and dreadnought weapons, have a 45 degree arc
