I will start out saying I know this topic is probably covered but I was not able to find one in the archive to answer my question. I am also new to playing the tabletop Warhammer 40k. When my units make an assault, they get +1 Attack for making an assault. My question is does each model get a +1 Attack or just +1 Attack for the entire combat.

Example: my 5 Tac Marines [4 regulars, 1 sergeant] assault another squad. Do they get 6 attacks + 1 Attack for assaulting for 7 total or 8 from regulars and 3 from sergeant for a total of 11 Attacks?

Every model assaulting gains 1 attack each.

so when you assault you take the number of attacks per model and add 1 attack to each model. So if your 4 marines each get base 1 attack, and the seargent gets 2 base attacks, you would have 6 base attacks, + 5 additional attacks because you assaulted. You only get these extra attacks on the round you actualy made the assault.

Thanks for the quick reply guys. I just re-read the rule. It said 'each model' and I fell slowed for asking. LoL

Also Remember that if the Sgt Has Pistol and CCW, or Pistol & Power Weapon; then he gets an additional bonus attack in every round of Close Combat.

As for not getting the rules straight off - there are 100 pages of them, youre not expected to!

Yeah, I figured out the +1 for multiple weapons by looking at the wargear my Sergeant came with and the reference to weapon type in the back of the main rulebook. I just made it a bit more general because I was not sure about the +1 for assaulting.

Just figured i would throw in a Helpful reminder, especially since the Tac Sgt actually has Very few Combinations of Weapons that grant a bonus attack(and a few of those are sooo cost prohibitive, it falls down to basically only the 2 combo's I wrote, expanded to include both Plasma and Bolt for the pistols).
