I think it should be wood elves or ogre kingdoms. They are the oldest, and wood elves are dyeing for another reign of awesomeness.

Bretts or wood elves imo.

Both armies were hurt pretty bad by 8th edition as far as rules go.

Ogres imo, are one of the books that need an update the least, they are a very solid army in 8th edition.

Brets, Wood Elves, Dwarves, in that order imo.

Wood Elves and Ogres are not the oldest, Brettonians are now the oldest since TK are updated.

They arent that incredibly horrible, but they are in dire need of a few things.

Their models are now way, way overcosted. They also need decent infantry horribly bad.

Also I wouldnt say no to their own magic lore (it makes sense), or access to a few more lores from the rulebook.

Their peasants, which are their core infantry, are 5 points a model for the statline of a skaven slave, except they have light armor, shields, and spears/halbers... So they are about 2 points over cost.

I agree Ogres are better in 8th, they could still use an update though to add to a rather stale selection (and such limited ways to build an army with only being able to take certain units if you have others in the list).

Brets are similar in that regard, I think.

But Wood Elves take the cake... hadn't heard dwarves mentioned before, but they have got to be somewhere in the not-so-far-distant-future, too...

Id definitely say Bretonnians. It's been YEARS, like several years since they were updated. With Wood Elves, they need time to really figure out what they wanna do with them. The first army back in 5th edition or so was all shooting, the newer ones are sort of mixed between all skirmish melee/shooting, and a whole lot of crappy Armor saves (or none). I think they need to decide the lines they wanna draw and stick to them. I love wood elves, one of my favourite armies, but I wanna see some time and love put into them.

It'd be cool to see dwarves updated sometime soonish as well, maybe model wise, like plastic Hammerers and Iron breakers. 40 bucks for 5 metal ones is not cool. Ogre kingdoms as well though, they need some new rules pretty bad.

other then that, most of the other armies are pretty solid right now. I'd like them to eventually change some of the DE models though, some of the new ones look great, while others look just out of place. I'd like to see all the elven armies have a facial..I mean a real facial. The faces on the models look terrible. Wood elves are pretty good tho.

To my mind?

Wood Elves
Ogres
Brettonia
Dwarfs
The Empire

In that order.

IRON WITHIN, IRON WITHOUT.

Wood Elves, if only to see more 'Dancing Forest' lists.

Ogres, while not in desperate need, could use a few tweaks. But don't change any of the models. I love their line of models.

From all the beautiful models being made right now (i.e. doomwheel, necrosphinx, arachnarok.), i'd like to see an updated dwarf gyrocopter.

P.S. Who voted for vampire counts?!?

I think wood elves need more of a codex update to get them back in the game. Their models are fine, all beautiful and what not. Maybe a couple switched to plastic, but that's mostly it.

I don't know WE or Bret so I vote Ogres. While they might be more competitive, they have the smallest collection of units of any army in the game. Look at the back of the BRB and see how tiny their list is.

Also, can you just imagine some new Ogre models

Brets could use an update but I fear Wood Elves need it more.

Ogres can die in a fire for all I care. I'm still pissed that 2 armies were discontinued while Ogres got their own book.

I think the Brets could use a tweaking, but a wholesale revision would probably wreak havoc on the army. I really fear what GW would do to our chivalrous knights...

For example, I don't see any good way to fit a big nasty monster into our army. We live to kill those sort of things, not fight alongside them!

Besides, I don't know if I want to pay massive cash for a hardcover that is going to start shedding pages inside six months...

I voted brets but I wouldn't want to see too many changes.
All I reckon they need to do is fiddle with the point costs and give lance formations some sort of thunderstomp or something.

The problem with the 'vote with your dollar' response is that it doesn't take into account why we're not buying the product. I want to enjoy 40k enough to buy back in. It was my introduction to traditional games, and there was a time when I enjoyed it very much. I want to buy 40k, but Gamesworkshop is doing their very best to push me away, and simply not buying their product won't tell them that.

Model wise, WE tree kin are the most in need of becoming plastic. What do you think?

Wood Elves, I would love to play with an army of tree men and hawks, the only reason I don't is because they are so weak and metal.

Wood elves...and commercially it makes sense since they used to be a popular army...

They have an "elitist" style of play very similar to eldar in 40k....hit hard then dance away....

It will be interesting to see how they decide to do wood elves. Mat ward did the last book with anthony whatever his name is, and it was done well. It just doesnt hold up anymore with 8th edition rules from the sounds of things. I think if they are going to have a static block of core infantry made for taking some hits, they need to give them a 4+ armor save. I know it isnt really wood elfey, but they need something to make them stick around and not lose horrible amounts of numbers. Even giving them the forest spirit rule for 5+ ward save against Non-magical attacks would be good. Glade guard are fine as is really. Wardancers are pretty well decent, maybe a little tweak here or there but I think they seem to hold their own. GLade riders are fine. Wild riders seem to be strange though. I find something is missing with them, I always have. I don't know if its a better armor save or maybe to make them more hitty? I dunno.

Needless to say, WE need a new dex pretty bad. That being said, I'd love to see new brettonian models! Ogre kingdoms i could care less about...I never liked them much anyway. Id say bring back Chaos dwarfs. That would be an awesome model line to do if done properly.

2 armies? I can only remember Chaos dwarfs (they were great) unless you are counting generic Undead?

I vote Wood Elves, plenty of ideas on the wish list thread that GW can chew over.

Dogs of War were discontinued along with chaos dwarves.

Between adding new armies that no one asked for and splitting chaos into 3 separate armies GW has been making IMO poor design decisions.

I totally forgot about Dogs of War, they were kind of fun, at least you can still get some of the models unlike the poor evil stunties.

I'd pay thru the nose if DoW got redone. So many cool themes that were possible.

Does that mean that the Ravening hordes list can't be used for Chaos Dwarves? I'd still like them to update Chaos dwarves, maybe FW will make enough profit to make GW consider updating them.

Ravening Hordes was invalidated as of 7th edition iirc.

They need to update Bretts, WEs, OKs, and then made a new Chaos Dwarf army book.

Was that officially stated? Because you could still use your 3rd ed codexes if you were DE, Necrons, and Daemonhunters/witch hunters of course that was before they got their new ones.

Ravening Hordes isn't tournie legal, and as of the end of 6th edition every army that was getting a book had one. With the deletion of the model lines the chapter of chaos dwarves was finalized, and only overstock dogs of war units are available anymore.

Once model support is pulled consider an army dust.

I'm starting to wonder why I didn't put Chaos Dwarfs or Dogs 'o' war on the list.

I know everyone will disagree, but I think the hellcannon is the best WoC model out there. Imagine an update for it!
