Lets say I have a ten man squad of lets say Grey Knight Purifers, and I purchase for them a rhino. If I also decide to implement the Combat Squads rule, can both groups of 5 still start the game in the transport and then act independently? Technically the Rhino was purchased for that unit as a whole. The codex says "Both combat squads CAN be deployed in seperate locations" it doesn't say that they must.

It also says once split into combat squads they are 2 separate units from that point.
And you can't have 2 separate units embarked in the same transport unless 1 is an IC, which would make them automatically joined into 1 unit.

Which is still not 2 separate units. you can never have 2 Separate units in a transport, unless the transport has rules allowing it(Storm Raven allows 1 Infantry/Jump infantry unit and 1 Dread; Apocalypse allows for multiple units in some transports, etc).

Hope I didn't offend(twas not my intention), your meaning was accurate; just not the original statement.
I just didn't want the OP to get confused into thinking that ICs joined to a unit were 2 Separate units acting similar to 1, as opposed to 1 unit that situationally acts as 2 separates(close combat attack steps only, excepting for movement where the IC can split off by moving out of coherency).
p.s. parenthetical was for OPs benefit; I know you know that TW.

It's all good KK!
You were right to point it out. When someone asks a question we should give clear answers (where they exist that is! )
That's why I edited in a different color, so it would stand out.
@jazzman674 - Hope we didn't confuse you!

Well Jazz(can I call you Jazz? ); continue to ask questions here and they shall be answered(but try and use the search function first, and do not post follow-up questions to those threads that the last post was more than 2-3 months ago).

Yep, keep asking away
Best way to learn the game, and hopefully with the correct rules.
