Most are absolute fething garbage. Midgard Models are horrible, and expensive. Most "Pr0 PAINTED L@@K!!!1!" models you see are somewhere between mediocre and excremental paintjobs.

Pro-Painted = painted by someones kid brother over his summer break.

Some Pro-painted are well painted, others not so much. Very few (IMO) are 'Pro' standard.

And what some people charge is ridiculous.

There's a guy here on Dakka who was selling some pro painted minis at $300+ dollars each. While the paintjobs were, to be fair, VERY good, I could never justify spending that much money on a single model.

Most of the time they're not very well done. I try to buy them unpainted/unassembled. Most of the models I've purchased primed have TERRIBLE primer (I end up stripping and repriming them). I won't buy anything that's been painted

Even worse, I have had some say PRIMED, however they just sprayed primer over the old paint. So I have to strip them anyway.

I think the term pro-painted has become code(at least on ebay) for "technically you can play this in a tournament because it was lathered with 3 colors but everybody will look at you and hang their heads in deep shame for what an imbecile you are."

Pro painted...yeaaaah i'd rather just paint them myself. Personally, even on ebay, i'd only buy new, in the box models.

Unless of course, the op was being sarcastic...in which case, good work on fooling me!
