Hey,
A friend of mine came over to spend the evening. Eventually we decided to have a small game and thus we played Combat Patrol. Since my friend forgot his army, he could borrow my
IG army. I have the feeling that both lists are slightly tailored against each other so that is fair I guess. Perhaps a soundtrack for the battle?

We had a couple of different rules:
No model may be more then 100 points and no unit may be more then 200 points. Besides that we had the usual Combat Patrol rules.

Deployment:
I deployed first and my opponent second. My opponent failed to seize the iniative.
When we started the field looked like this...
I got the first turn and decided to use the avaible cover to hide.
My friend moves his
SWS and opens fire on my army with the others, killing 3 of my Guardsmen.
I decide to ignore the casualties and keep moving forward. The Rough Riders destroy a weapon on the
SWS.
My opponent disembarks and kills 3 Rough Riders, forcing them to retreat. Besides that he kills 4 more
IG.
Marbo arrives! He throws his democharge and kills 8
IG. Forcing them to do a
LD-check.
Now here comes the risky part of my plan. I wanted to fire with the meltaguns on one tank and then assault the other tank. I hoped to destroy one of them.
Too bad the meltaguns failed to hurt the tank and the charge stopped at 2''.
My opponent moves in for the kill and destroys my blob squad.
We decided to end the game since he had to go home and I couldn't win with what I had left.
He wins this game.
Thoughts after the game:
It feels weird to be beaten by your own army list and by your own miniatures, by an opponent that usually doesn't play
IG...
Still I had an hour of fun so it's worth it.
And I need to work on my armylist.
