Ok so i had a rant about Matt Ward and his grey knights, like most people have. I also said to myself that they arent the grey knights i remember reading about in the novels and wont buy them. On top of that the fluff is very bad.
But after looking at the models especially Draigo i found myself ordering £150 worth of them!!!
Afterwards i felt almost robbed, and stupid for it, i havnt even finished painting my orks yet.
I must say that the new shiny approach really worked on me i mean im 23 not 12 and i fell for it
Now im hating the fluff and the fact that im on the bandwagon as it were, but i love the models.
The question is should i be annoyed? Or should i just enjoy them?

ENjoy them. You are closer to the true meaning of 40K by buying an army for how cool they look, rather than competitive play or anything like that. I'll just use the old GK fluff when I cite things, you know?

10'000 years ago, Terra was under siege. The Sons of Rogal Dorn stood firm at the gate, never letting an inch slip away so long as we drew breath. We were killed in droves defending the Emperor and his Imperium, and we killed many in turn. We defended the Emperor and his Imperium, and this is what it means to be a Fist

Yea thats what i planned on doing anyway. i love the old fluff.
Im just going to have to try my hardest not to buy a dreadnight, because they have no good place in the fluff, but their model is awesome imo.
Thanks guys.

Wait, wait, wait.
You're upset because they're "not the Grey Knights you read about in the novels"?
This is far closer to the "Grey Knights in the novels" than the originals ever were.

Well they dont break their own fluff in the novels ive read so far. But that may change, ive still got one more book to go but it was the novels that got me into them in the first place. I dont know anything about their original fluff other than bits ive seen here and there.
Off topic a little but does anyone know if i can get a look at the codex anywhere online?

Legally get a peek of it? No.
And speaking from the perspective of a huge background-o-phile...I'm satisfied, overall, with the way the Grey Knights book read.
There were a few stinkers(namely the idea that some of the Grey Knights' technology was provided by alien races in their own best interest), but it fleshed them out far more and there was bound to be some issues.

"Opinion" is for when things aren't written down as fact.
If his statement was that "The Grey Knights in the novels are better than the ones in the Codex"--then I wouldn't have said anything.
But this incarnation is far closer to Ben Counter's novels than the Daemonhunters and prior introductions.

Iwont argue that you are probably right i didnt read the original fluff, but lets face it they are far from the knights in Ben Counter's novels as well. I mean there arent any 30ft tall daemon killing knights in the novels are there.

There aren't any in the codex either
The Dreadknight is new, and one of the things that I dislike...mostly the execution of the concept and the model's aesthetics, but that's beside the point.
In Counter's novels, we see a lowly Grey Knight wielding a Nemesis weapon taking the form of a hammer. That most certainly was not in the Daemonhunters book, with the hammer being the "symbol of the Ordo Malleus" not the Grey Knights.
Counter's novels also had another thing in common with the Codex.
They were pretty over the top
