Abit new and abit dated. Jus gettin back into the hobby after a 12yr break......life, uni family etc all just got in the way. But now iv found my way back to the light, then realised i dont know anybody who actually plays,models,paints etc. The thort of hangin around a GW in the hope of finding a like minded person/s isnt really my cuppa! those places seem too draw abit of a young crowd. But anyhows, anybody looking to have a game or anyfin like that around my area give us a post and we can see wat could be arranged

Im still at uni till the summer, but i dont know anyone who still plays anymore (lots of my mates did at one point but we all stopped, ive re-discovered gaming while at uni) and id love to meet some new people in this area who play

Same thing kinda happened to us, although it was til we wer back in the real world and had some extra cash to buy stuff that we could take ourselves a little more seriously haha

sorry i forgot to mention im from Herts (Potters Bar) originally, im at uni in Leicester.
and yeah there wasnt any gaming done since ive been at uni (drinking ), if nothing else, because i didnt want my models to get stolen from my room/house (a few other things have gone 'missing' over the years and it really pisses me off, definitely dont want that to happen to my models as well).
probs not gonna be able to get back into it straight away, but wanted to test the water as it were.

Ah potterbar aint to far. Since havin dragged to various parts of the country for the hobby bak in the day!! seems fairly short distance.

Just really getting back into things really, for about a year. Things have really changed since i was doin it about 10yrs but most of all the prices but hey ho as they say.

So far managed the start of a fairly respectable Crimson fist army and jus started a New idea, a marine army loosely based around grey knights/ actual medieval knights........lets see how that pans out hahahaha

I just started getting in with the new orks, as they are sooo much better to convert with the new plastic, and jonny is a faithful marine collector as well.

YEs im sure we wont get anything going strainght away (as neither of us have a great deal of time, ever) but would be a good thing to start thinking aboot.

got some Brettonians too, but not very many. Thinking about it, my marines need some serious updates as well *sigh*

Sweet, been to a couple of clubs in the area. But none of them seem my kinda thing, but always up for another!!!

Jus seems kinda difficult tryin to find people at the same point in things as me.....i.e 15 yr draught an jus tryin out the new rules n figures etc. But ye sounds good. Got an old friend from the same manner as me thats got back into it, but between us we're starved haha Should def try and work sumfin out mate!!!

I've played about 8 games of 5th edition, think I've got the hang of all but the most complex rules : ) I hadn't played since 2nd edition before that. Happy to get you upto speed with the new rules.
Id never been into clubs either, however they are convenient as they have tables, lots of terrain etc without having to turn your house upside down and upset the missus!
I got Eldar, orks and marines, not much painted tho. What you got, Crimson Fists?
The club is on Wednesday evenings, how is Watford for you to get to?

I know there is a GW in Stevenage and I read about a new store opening in Hitchin, but I guess it's mostly kids that play these days. Would feel a bit weird playing against a 12 year old or something

Yeah I'm too old for GW too : ) I work in Hatfield so if you find any local clubs let me know.

There is a club which meets in Stevenage on Mondays between 6-10pm. It is mostly 40k and fantasy, although people are starting to branch out into Malifaux, Dust Tactics, Heavy Gear Blitz and a few other games too.
We get people of all ages, and it is usually a really good turnout.

I'm in Letchworth, so that Stevenage club would be easy to get to. Is there a website or any more details on it?

I am throwing together a 1000pt Space Wolves army out of the old miniatures I have, 15+ years without picking up a paintbrush means I won't be posting any photos of my blobbily-painted craptacular plastic beaky marines just yet though! If I still enjoy the game I will buy some new stuff, this is a practise army

The guys at the club just tend to use the club facebook page to organise games (search for stevenage 1st company wargamers).

We meet at St Nicholas community centre on Monday evenings between 6 and 10pm.

Feel free to come along, we have a few people who are just getting back into 40k and there shouldn't be any problem getting you a couple games in.

wish I were a little closer to Stevenage as I go up there shopping occasionally!

I'm easing my way back into a 40k army or three right now. Chatted to GW John a couple of times regarding the St. Nicks club. Hopefully it's still going as I forgot to ask him a couple of weeks ago.

I'm just building a few models up hobby style i.e. HQ, 2 troops, then one option at a time. Get to 500 points and have a game or two and decide what to get next to build/paint/try out. I definately have a starter force for IG and BA ready come to think of it.
