They have similar but not equal stats to Space Marines... whats the trade off? Are sisters cheaper to field? Is it the faith point stuff that make up for the lower stats?

The Sisters used to have the flamer/melta dominance down, but get outshined these days on that.

They had some unique options, like penitent engines and special tanks (immolator, exorcist) but lack almost all the other options Marines have these days. Crusader Redeemers would fit them so well A lot of that is due to being an antique codex.

also, what other army lets you field a unit of naughty nuns in their underwear (which still gives a 4+ save thanks to adamantium everlasts) wielding giant chainsaws, driven on by a Mistress dressed like an iron-clad Madonna whipping them on with power weapon whips

I loved my Repentia when i had Sisters

Sisters, from my understanding, take aspects of the Guard and aspects of the Astares, and mix them up with better fluff and better looking models.

You've basically got better guard in power armor: a close range, very shooty, quick as lightening army.

That's my ACTUAL Necron Army list you turd. +27 scarabs. Stop hatin'! -Dash of Pepper

With nowhere near the vehicle/artillery support of either, but some fun Faith tricks

Plus you can (until the rewrite) induct units of marines or Guard to bolster the good Sisters

Sisters just kindly (lol) ask the local guard regiment to provide some long range fire support. If you have the actual book you can take guard allies, which supplement a immolator rush quite nicely. Nothing like 10 twin linked HF tanks with 2 melta gun power armored squads in each coming at you.

Who needs faith when you have 20+ melta guns and 10 HF backed by guard in chimeras with suitable weapons? Or hell, guard powerblobbing with sisters putting some spine into them (book of St. lucius gives a bubble of better than stubborn LD 9-10 to nearby units).
