Your Sig annoys me.
Anyway they just polish and mop stuff up and act as guards for the ship while the Astrates are in battle.

Everything. Anything that needes to be done in or on chapter property that is below a marine. this covers cleaning, maintaining some equipment, preparing meals, manning ship guns etc.

- cleaning
- maintain
- transport
- crew ( ships and vehicles )
- produce
- manservant ( HH ).

Chapter serfs keep the marines time free, so they can focus on training and fighting.
Parts or all of these jobs can be done by servitors.
So cleaning the floor may be a servitor duty, cleaning the personal weapons maybe a servants duty.
Cleaning the plasmaguns the duty of those who failed.....

I guess they could also have more specific duties.

Like helping the apothecaries in healing the wounded battle-brothers, or maintaining the reclusiam of the chapter. I don't think librarians bother themselves with things as boring as counting the books of the reclusiam or making sure the battle-brothers give back the books they borrowed in time.

"How many more worlds do we sacrifice? How many more millions or billions do we betray before we turn and fight?" - attributed to Captain Leoten Semper of Battlefleet Gothic - Gothic War, the evacuation of Belatis.

If commanding a Titan is a measure of true power, then commanding a warship is like having one foot on the Golden Throne - Navy saying.

We're not very big on official rules. Rules lead to people looking for loopholes. What's here is about it.

Everything that doesn't involve combat. Which is almost everything.

The people in the past who convinced themselves to do unspeakable things were no less human than you or I. They made their decisions; the only thing that prevents history from repeating itself is making different ones.
