So, you people have any suggestion on what music to listen to while playing 40K?
My favorite at the moment is "Warp Riders" By the Sword; The whole album is pretty fitting, but variety is always good.

But being as this is a .44 Magnum, the most powerful handgun in the world, and would blow your head clean off, you've got to ask yourself one question: Do I feel lucky? Well, do ya, punk?
I think every 40k fan ought to listen to a little Bolt Thrower.
I favor old school heavy metal/psychedelic rock, prog rock, and the soundtrack to the original Dawn of War game. Blue Oyster Cult and early Pink Floyd are good fits. Coheed and Cambria, too-- see the link in my sig line.

+1. Hard to find any more fitting music, if it's your style.
The Dreadnote wrote:But the Emperor already has a shrine, in the form of your local Games Workshop. You honour him by sacrificing your money to the plastic effigies of his warriors. In time, your devotion will be rewarded with the gift of having even more effigies to worship.
I find it really distracting to put on music while I play. Painting is another story completely. My FLGS usually has the local alt rock station playing, and I can tune it out since it's just the same dozen songs every day.

Personally though, I've got the soundtrack to Black Hawk Down, and that is pretty cool to play along to!
Gaga is the official heraldic music of Slaanesh.

Hm, BOC and Floyd are interesting picks, but I can see it.
Anyways, I would go with Destroyer 666. It makes great 40k music. Especially the song "I am the Wargod".
oh you tossers.
Everyone knows it's Raised Fist's "Friends & Traitors" aside from being pure awesomesauce, it also keeps you alert and awake, unlike powermetal and heavy-wankadoodledandy-metal.
I agree with Exopheric, Blue Oyster Cult fit the bill very well. I'd also like to mention Hawkwind, especially albums like In search of Space, Doremi, Space Ritual, Warrior on the edge of time and Hall of the mountain grill. Big Hawkwind fan me!
with a couple 40k Vids and good music within. I´ve downloaded the stuff and listen to it while painting minis. Right now, there´s nothing better for me. Once I turn on my orkz again Grave Diggers album "Tunes of War" is the music of choice again. Besides that Motörhead all the way!
