I've been in the gallery looking for mycetic spore pods and trying to encourage fellow Tyranid players who have made pods (there are quite a few nice ones) by voting on their pics.

After every vote, I am presented an image of some sensational tank or other top ranked picture, which has been brought into view because it has a large number of votes and scored very highly.

Obviously it is great to have such wonderfully done models in the Gallery and a credit to all concerned. However, once a model has scored 100 votes and an average of 9.6 or something -- completely deservedly -- does it need to be pushed in order to attract more votes?

The top painters don't need 200+ votes to tell them their models are fantastic. The plebs like me do need those crucial five votes.

I suggest that once a model hits 100 votes and an average of 9+, it should be taken out of the normal sequence and put into a special "hall of fame" section. There would be no more voting in this section.

I think this would help to increase voting on the lower level models which deserve and need more votes and comments to encourage the owners and help them improve.

We're not very big on official rules. Rules lead to people looking for loopholes. What's here is about it.

I agree.

However, there is a section of the turbovoter that allows you to vote on non-voted images. That's what I do.

It is a tough call as people who just want to look at pretty images (most of the voters) have complained a lot in the past about there being loads of crap (image with too few votes), so images which are rated highly are interjected to make voting more entertaining. Additional votes for them are fairly worthless but filtering the 'next image' code based on additional user statistics like voting would be too heavy on the database so I can only go all in one way or the other. It could certainly use some tweaking though.
