Are Ork Kommandos worth it?? i have spoken to a few mates about it,
i guess in a 1500p game its worth taking 5-7 with snikrot maybe??
and what wargear to equip them with.
i can see the point of them for taking out the devastator squads or longfangs that sit back on their table edge, and then snikrot comes on with his kommandos and can do some damage.
when they come on they cant do anything besides shoot yes?

They can assault when they show up. They're more valuable for their ability to influence your opponent's moves than they are for actually doing anything. Against some armies, they can do a lot, but it's a gamble, and it's not too hard to plan against them.

They can be good but most of the time the points and slot are better used on lootas. Now I do find them useful in a kan wall where you block LoS your own walkers.

No, that's the job of the KFF. They are there to make your opponent deploy a little closer to your table edge to help close the gap, and jumping weaker units hiding in the back field.
Don't expect them to live long after the first attack.

As said, against a Footslogging army there's a good chance your opponent will be back-to-the-wall, and the back is where Snikrot is usually best applied! Two burnas in the unit are almost a requirement - they will ruin light infantry - or they may be used as power weapons against tougher opponents.

You can also use them to make IC run off the board. Any IC standing near its board edge is fair game. Snikrot, some boyz and two burnas on the charge are almost assured to win the combat against anything with a save of 3+ or worse. Unless the IC is a ridiculous CC monster(what is he doing back there then?), just murder his squad and wave him goodbye while running off.

7 Ork facts people always get wrong:
Ragnar did not win against Thrakka, but suffered two crushing defeats within a few days of each other.
A lasgun is powerful enough to sever an ork's appendage or head in a single, well aimed shot.
Orks meks have a better understanding of electrics and mechanics than most Tech Priests.
Orks actually do not think that purple makes them harder to see. The joke was made canon by Alex Stewart's Caphias Cain books.
Gharkull Blackfang did not even come close to killing the emperor.
Orks can be corrupted by chaos, but few of them have any interest in what chaos offers.
Orks do not have the power of believe. |

This. In a Kan Wall or a list that requires you to close in on the enemy as soon as possible, Snikrot is invaluable. He effectively decreases your opponent's side of the table by 12" all around. If he doesn't do that, then he'd most definitely coming in behind a ground unit/transport/light tank and having a good chance at taking it out. Keep the unit cheap...8 Kommandos (2 Burnas) and Snikrot is a decent buy at 195 points for these uses. In most of the times I've used him, he's good at taking out a dangerous backfield unit (and dying eventually), or he's good as psyching out your opponent especially if they have a lot of long range. A fairly good amount of times I have traded the 195 points for something equal or higher value of my opponent's.
