What models do you use for the Blood Angels Honour Guard? I can't seem to find models for them so I presume they're one of the units that isn't currently produced, please correct me if I'm wrong.

Assault marines with sanguinary guard parts mixed in work well.

EDIT: and also, models are produced for them, they just arent very good.

Yeah I agree, the only good thing about them seems to be the banner. Thanks winnertakesall!

The Sanguine Guard also come with a banner, the picture is actually molded so easy to paint, plus you get loads of spares. Definitely the way to go. Only thing you don't get are Priest parts (and tech parts but can't have those in Honour Guard anymore anyway!)

Need more 's in my life!

I just used marines for honour guard, gave 1 a power weapon and combat shield to be a blood champion, it pretty much suits for me as i only really use them as a cheap feel no pain if i run short on priests.

You can use a variety of things depending on what HQ choice they are going to be associated with. GW used to have a BA honor guard boxed set but discontinued it.

Anyway, for my vanilla HQ choices I use just a simple command squad. If you are looking for honor guard to go with a character like Dante, sanguinary guard would work well (bash conversions where applicable of course). Just depends on the options your giving them. Best of luck!

Personally, I have found the honor guard to be a waist of points and time to build.

I see -puts advice into box labelled 'Honor Guard Advice'-
Thanks. I ended up with the Death Co box as I needed the models ASAP for a friend and the hobby shop only had them (not even assault marines :( ) and its working out as of now, just gotta get around the x's so they blend in.

I was advised that they are decent for their worth in an all-around list, but I'm afraid my friend may or may not like them as the power weapons may just bounce off my Deathwing. We shall see when it comes time for it.

Another modeling question: I need ideas for converting the infernus pistols to meltaguns so they are wysiwyg. Not too hot on converting things so any ideas are appreciated.

my plan is to bash normal marines with a few bits from the death company and helmets from the new grey knight heads

I've commented on a couple of similar threads about my honor guard/vanguards I'm building but I hadn't taken any pics yet. I work a lot and don't get a lot of time for playing with my toys, so here are my vets made from Death Company and Snaguinary Guard legs with Death Company parts and Forgeworld MKIV torsos. (the first two anyway). All packs and arms are magnetized for quick swaps and the heresy jump packs are from Chapterhouse Studios.
And because I was taking pictures anyway, my mostly finished Termie priest (I know the power sword didn't turn out well, it will be repainted)

If you want melta guns, just use tactical marine arms and melta guns like my flamer dude
