So i'm making an army of harlequins... I've got the 3 elite slots used for harlequins. my questions ar: for my farseer id like to convert him to be harlequin looking. Would it be plausible for harlequins to have psychic powers? and the other question is how could i make the guardians fit into the army without being normal craftworld? could they be harlequin neophytes sort of and not fully trained so they just use guns? would that be plausible?

I don't play eldar, but they worship the laughing god who could do all sorts of sinister and chaos-y things to them on a minor scale like upgrading a lord to a daemon prince as a reward for excellence from khorne would be parallel to being given psychic abilities?? And are shadowseers psychic anyway? Not sure about that point, just a guess!! and on the other point, I like the idea of some sort of recruits?? Or other mercenaries? Something like that?

Shadowseers are Halequin psykers. Stands to reason that it's likely there's more advanced Shadowseers with talents and abilities comparable to a Craftworld Farseer. A great list includes a farseer and warlock Seer Council on jetbikes - using the classic Harlequin jetbike! Combined with the highly mobile 'quins, the opponent will have to choose which threat to focus on, leaving them vulnerable to the others.

Harlequin Mimes: paint them up harlequin-style, maybe use green stuff to give them sashes, ribbons, masks, and jackets and you're good. Very plausible. Now let's see you get started on it, weekly progress reports are now mandatory!

He's right. I've seen it happen.

I would add that you'd probably be better served by Dire Avengers over Guardians as they'd suit the more elite aspect of Harlies a bit more, whilst I've also seen people use Guardian Jetbikes. I think it sounds like a really neat idea however; good luck. I'm gonna see if I can find that Harlequin army from adepticon to give you some inspiration...

Thanks for backing me up, boys. Tell Guido to keep an eye on this fella...

I've seen that army pic before and love the concept, very nice execution although I think the warp gate in the back could've been a little more like the ones in the codex. This is great inspiration for players with a similar idea - note the guardians interspersed with older harlequin models towards the left, made cohesive by their color scheme. Very nice!

Well I've painted five harliequins this week so far. Two more to go and then I'll need to go buy some more! Still not sure how I'm going to do everything, like the aspirant's masks for example. What would they look like? I'm still torn between how the army is going to fill out. I can't decide if I want two squads of pathfinders for my troops, or some Jetbikers or some Shining Spears. I'm going to buy and paint up all of them as harlies, but I'm not sure about the list. I'm particularly looking forward to a Wraithlord painted as a marionette. And yes, I green stuffed Kisses on the ones that didnt have one. They look like crap but I'm not good at long thin things like Kisses. And the pics are a little blurry but... Anyways, here are the pics so far!

Those look fantastic. Well done squire. You should ask a Mod. to move this to P&M blogs.

Have you considered using the Dark Eldar codex instead of the Eldar one?

I've been thinking about it for a few days. I'm still not sure which to go with. I'm wanting this to be a tournament list as well as general playing. But if a dev wants to move it to P&M thats cool with me

Actually, I too would recommend a Dark Eldar list; Webways could be beneficial for Harlies and wyches and the like can be potentially used as 'lesser' Harlequins.
If you want it moved to P & M then you could simply press the report button (triangle with a '!') and ask...

These are very nice models, and it's great to see someone starting with a Harlequin theme. I like the idea of a farseer as a super-shadowseer so much, I wish I'd thought of it.

Side note- the Dark Eldar Venom transport was originally a vehicle in the Harlequin codex. Juuust sayin'.

Its too bad you can't still use the 3rd ed rules for an all harlequin army. But it's a great idea I wonder how well it'll work on the table though?
