So I was thinking of putting Crowe with some Purifiers and I found he wasnt given the "Independent Character" Special Rule. Can he still join a unit?

What i find funny is that the "Brotherhood Champion" is.

Crowe is a Brotherhood Champion.

But a very special one. Which makes him not an IC (for a start, he is a Purifier level BC as he can use Cleansing Flame)

When you realise his true purpose, that of making enemies disappear in close combat / holding up units (more wounds than a BC) he ISNT useless.

Stick him in a spare rhino, run him you the field and use him to tarpit. Rerolled 2+/4++ save against anything important, with cleansing flame to help you win combat.

And? Hoods are the bane of GK anyway.

Hoods arent all that common, and you REALLY dont need help against nids. You#'re not getting swamped by bodies that you arent able to burn away.

But if you cant roll 9 or under on 3d6 then you dont get your flame.

And? You still have your ID causing, automatically happening force weapon attacks for the warriors / other MW synapse that is in the combat with you, and if you do manage to roll it (10 with crowe) then you've burnt the other bugs

Or, and heres the kicker: if you ARENT in combat with warriors / other multi wounders but are in combat with tons of hormagaunts, then your tactics were wrong, you shouldnt be there. Those free incinerators? Use those out of a rhino.

Where do you get the auto-FWs on Crowe from?

Crowe does not have a force weapon. He has a sword that rends on a 4+ that is not a power weapon.

Because that's not why I just asked where Nos gets auto-FW on Crowe from?

No they don't? They still have to test as everyone else, at least last time I looked they did...

yeah, they can't take a Brotherhood banner(which does make them Auto-pass the FW test)

still, SitW isn't all that scary.
