I'm in the process of making a count-as Iron Warriors army with the Space Marine codex, and have came to the subject of what to use as a Warsmith. I've narrowed it down to Vulkan He'stan or Captain Lysander. Lysander thanks to the massive hammer and stormshield, Vulkan thanks to the making meltas and flamers twin-linked.

Anyone got any opinions on which would better fit a Warsmith?

The Warsmith model has a combi melta and a power fist. You could chintz that to be Vulkan and all it a heavy flamer, while saying his bionic arm is the strength 6 power weapon and the 3++ is his bionics. He doesn't look anything like Lysander, but if you make a suitable conversion, whatever floats your boat.

Depends really on how you'll model him. Are you using the straight up warsmith model from GW or converting your own? Personally I'd go with Vulkan, the Mastercrafted weapons and twin-linked flame weapons are much more representative of Iron Warriors than one bolstered defence (which is much better represented with a MotF instead).

Hell, I'm not that bothered by the Stormraven. Why? Because, as it stands right now, it's "limited use".When it's shoehorned in to the Codex: Space Marines, then yeah. I'll be irked.

Oh, no, I was intending to make a converted model for it. I've already got one made up with a thunderhammer and stormshield (shield from a WHFB Chaos Warrior!) made, but I was looking at Vulkan and thought he would make a plausible one too.
