So, lets say that Storm Trooper TK 421 was best friends with an Ork Boy. One day they decide to go to a gun range and have a friendly shooting competition...

Who would win??? I think that the Storm Trooper would have a better chance with his Imperial Training...but what do fellow Dakkites think??

Ork are bad at shooting in both fluff and game. The only thing that makes them effective is the sheer number of shots.
Stormtroopers can't hit a person with plot armour but otherwise they're fine.

Well, bear in mind Storm Troopers are the same clone troopers that killed the vast majority of Jedi when Order 66 kicked in. So my money is on the Storm Trooper being more accurate.

They stopped making the Fett Clones after the Clone Revolt on Kamino, shortly afte the installation of the Empire. Most of the troopers after that were cheap clones or common people that recruited.

I'm talking about the Troopers of Episodes 4-6.

I think TK 421 would lose because he's unconcious in the smuggling compartment in the Millenium Falcon. Did they ever drop those two guys off somewhere?

That's an interesting article, and it's something I've mused on myself before. Have you ever read 2000AD's Rogue Trooper comic? It's essentially "world war 2 in space" between two sides, fairly arbitrarily called the Norts and the Southers.

The evil Norts wore helmets that obscured their face, making them look inhuman, so that when our titular hero mowed them down in their hundreds, the reader wouldn't feel sorry for them. The good guy Southers, however, wore glass visors so you could see each individual soldier's farmboy features, and whenever they were killed, it was a tragedy.

War eh.... it's hell.

It would make a great webcomic... or a sit-com depeding on the time/money you want to invest.

The ork would win. Why? After checking their scores the storm trooper would have a higher score, thus enraging the ork into forgoing any "friendship" and thus would gun the trooper down point blank!

The Star Wars analogy does have some merit - in fact this is one reason more highly trained units perform better in combat... a much higher percentage in their units tend to launch bullets toward targets, and with less psychological pitfalls such as considering the enemy 'brothers'.

After the Prison break some Stormtroopers checked the Falcon again, found them, and took them to the miedical bay.

Given that TK-421 would actually aim, instead of randomly firing hoping for some noise, I reckon he'd get more hits.

Orks aren't necessarily bad at shooting... as in, their eyesight, reaction speed, etc is excellent compared to humans. They just don't bother to aim with guns like they do with choppaz.

The people in the past who convinced themselves to do unspeakable things were no less human than you or I. They made their decisions; the only thing that prevents history from repeating itself is making different ones.

The only reason Stormtroopers miss is when they are shooting at independant characters with a invulnerable 1+ plot save. They are supposedly very efficient in exterminating anything else.

Retroactively applied infallability is its own reward. I wish I knew this years ago.

the ork would misunderstand the competition and would gun the stormtrooper down at close range(or clobber him to death with the shoota instead)

And even then Lucas would try and sue that pants off of anyone if they did it without his permission.

We're still deciding what media to make it in, but I will definately link if this project becomes a reality. We have some good ideas though. Be a multipart short, as far as we have it set up now.

We talked it over and we're considering doing it as a 5 part machinema using Star Wars Battlefront, or Jedi Knight Jedi Academy. I'll post something in a more general forum on here once we have something to show for it

When the firefight broke out between the staff of Detention Block AA 23 and a Wookiee with two stormtroopers, a security team was dispatched to the hangar housing the recently captured freighter. TK-421 and his comrades were found aboard the Falcon, and brought to the sick bay in their various states of incapacitation by his fellow stormtroopers.

Now that you have brought this up, I think the next WEG D6 Star Wars character I play is going to be TK-421.

The ongoing saga of TK421 and his exploits.. love it. He's gonna be almost as irrelevantly awesome as Wedge someday!
