My thoughts?

At 1000, I feel a Black boss is probably too much, and could be spent on a cheaper Ork, that way I could fit in a Big boss or Sherman to round off my forces, and that the Night Goblins are far better as a pack of 40 to nagate leadership tests.

Any help? I only just started getting into the hobby, and I want a force that will, hopefully not be too expensive to make (E.G, probably not this list. lol) and general pointers. I probably won't be going to tourneys any time soon, but I don't like hobbiling myself either.

Edit: Thought I would try the spiders rather then a chariot, they sound cooler. May fit in some boars later.

Quite possibly, I could take out the nasty stabbers, merge the black gobs together to make a huge pack and convert them into a mainline pack and chip some points somewhere for the fanatics so I have two steady, steadifast units and strip the goblins down to use as a side attack unit, though I fear I won't have much in the way of flank rushers/ranged fire anyway. That sound ok?

Yea I would combine the goblins, theres a reason why their minimum size is 20! Are the orcs just bare bones? Maybe drop a chukka to get them extra stuff

They have the Musian and Standard Barer, and are being lead by the big bad orc. That being said, extra weapons would definately be appreated... I donno, is dropping a spear chucker the best idea? I could easily downgrade the leader to a normal Orc, but then his unit might randomly flip out. I'll probably do as you said though, as said, trying to build the intial army with as few buys as possible.

I've also toyed with making the Orc squad big un's, but it would probably look quite deathstarish by that point, prone to blasting.

yeah i dont think 2 chukkas will amount to a huge deal compared to lobbas. I've put 5 chukkas in my army and i still think i need more! using them points and filling out to 2 30 man NG units with a couple fantics. I would say mangler squigs are another option to for a silly amount of damage per points. They might be easy to convert up too if your into that stuff.

True enough, I probably best leave most of the shooty instriuments for larger lists, where more bulk is probably appreated, cut out the Gobbos, shift their points over into the two Night Gobbo squads and give them some Fans.

Question though, whats better? Spears or Bow? Night Gobbos seem generally poor at melee of any kind, though 3 points each migrates this, not quite sure if I have enough raw power to win, unless I of course I use a 40 guy, then a 20 guy formation to hit the flank.

Just bumping to say that I have edited it.

Considering replacing the trolls and considering running doom divers instead, losing a snotwing wagon and running a 2 man troll squad to serve as a cheaper combat enhancement.

On that case, put him on a boar, he won't get look out sir either, but at least it won't slow down the trolls.

Hmmm, I was thinking then, I guess I may as well turn the trolls into a 20 gobo squad with bows perhaps. I just really wanted some trolls in my force. That or move him in with the spears, where he may not cast much magic.

I will think on it for a bit. The troll +Sherman would cost 170 altogether, so chances are another 16 points would make for a casting unit which can be used to add on more strength where needed.

Edit: Made changes, put the Sharman in with the spider riders. Since they will only really be in combat if they need to. I feel I am a bit short on moible units though.

Any Night Goblin unit must have Fanatics IMO. My buddy fields an army of NGs with about 10-15 fanatics and it's brutal. I am scared to go anywhere near it with my dwarfs. My skaven on the other hand I will just run a sacraficial slave unit 40 wide for 82 points that are sent ahead of my force to draw out those fanatics.

Thus, After having thus successively taken each member of the community in its powerful grasp and fashioned him at will, the supreme power then extends its arm over the whole community. It covers the surface of society with a network of small complicated rules, minute and uniform, through which the most original minds and the most energetic characters cannot penetrate, to rise above the crowd. The will of man is not shattered, but softened, bent, and guided; men are seldom forced by it to act, but they are constantly restrained from acting. Such a power does not destroy, but it prevents existence; it does not tyrannize, but it compresses, enervates, extinguishes, and stupefies a people, till each nation is reduced to nothing better than a flock of timid and industrious animals, of which the government is the shepherd

True enough, though again, it depends on the rolls. If it's going to be cheap bowmen, then one or no Fans seem acceptable.

I have a second list which I wanted to put more speed in it, but I feel that will have to wait till higher points cost. :/

Orc Boss with Great Weapon and Sheild (General) 61 (Goes with Orc Brick)

Orc level 1 Sharman: 65 (Goes with Orc Brick)

ORC CHARGE

32 Orcs with extra weapons, sheilds, Muscian and Standard: 275

Special

10 War Boars with spears: 190

5 Night Goblin Squig Hoppers: 60

3 Trolls: 105

2 Doom Divers: 160

Snotling Pump Wagon 45

996

The problem I see is that the troops choice is out of place, so perhaps it's better replaced with multiple squads of spider riders. Also, I know 3 people are playing Dark Elves, 2 wood elves and one vampire lords army. In short, I am going to be intied by pretty much all but one army anyways. Is there any other concerns?

I also thought of playing High Elves and Scaven, since they come together, but this codex just looked crazy fun. Just perhaps I should reconsider due to budget.
