I know this is a stupid question, but why are GK librarians silver? aren't all librarians from the same chapter or something, wouldn't that mean the GK librarian would stay blue? i'm asking this because I painted a librarian blue, then went on the website to find out its silver...

Librarians are part of each chapter; blue is just the color of their office. Silver with blue trim or blue with silver trim will work fine for your GK.

Because Libby is a psyker, all GK is psyker. They still paint(or not paint) their armor "silver". Wouldn't GK libby be silver? Maybe with some blue, but dominantly silver?

They're always have been Ultramarine blue, GW just screwed with the fluff again, but to be honest I don't give a dime, looks fine either way. Altough i would add some blue shoulderpads or other decals to the silver libby just for the fluffs cause.

Librarians aren't from 'the same chapter'. They're part of their chapter, they just use blue to denote their Librarian status, justlike Apothecaries use white and Techmarines use red.

In various books, chapters and over time this can vary - some Librarians are painted ENTIRELY blue, with just the shoulder pad in the original chapter colour. On the other hand, some have been shown with only their left shoulder pad and arm blue, or some other part of their armour blue. I guess it all depends on the Librarian and how strictly the chapter follows the Codex Astartes.

Of course, since the Grey Knights don't follow the Codex Astartes, there's no reason why their librarians and apothecaries would follow the colour scheme.

Even so, they seem to acknowledge the colours a bit - the GK Librarian in the GK Codex has blue robes, and the Apothecary has white sections of his armour.

As said above, either chapter colours with a blue shoulder pad or blue with chapter colours shoulder pad!!

I've always hated that theme of colors, with the exception of the chaplains (so the chapter can see them easily and be inspired) and the apothecaries (field medics should wear white), for the others just stick with a shoulder plate or some trim.
