OK dude, looks like a good starting-point, but some things can be better:

Command squad doesn't need carapace, they've got the chimera to protect them. Take a 4th meltagun as well, the powerfist is unecessary, it will never be a good squad in combat so why waste points trying?

The platoons are basically sound - in a platoon command squad, a 4th special weapon is often better than a vox, because the orders aren't that vital. The infantry squads, you will almost always want to combine into units of 20, so only 1 vox would be needed for every 2 squads. As a matter of fact, with no CCS there to give the really important orders (since I assume you will be using yours to go forward and blast tanks) I don't think voxes will be needed at all. Every infantry squad needs a special and a heavy weapon. Buy these before you buy seperate HWS.

Heavy support is good, IG tanks are great.

The sentinel looks a little lonely, I don't think 1 outflanker alone can accomplish much. I would cut him out to afford more guns in the troops section.

One option, is you might be able to cut the sentinel, and with the savings on the CCS, have enough points for Marbo. He is a really easy unit to model (just convert a bad-ass secret soldier dude), is a lot of fun to use, and can really work over heavy infantry and such.

Its good, ive just got a few reccomendations

IMHO i think that HWS are better than putting heavy-weapons in your squads because you want your squads to be moving forward and your hws to stay back and shoot and heavy-weapons in squad dont work well in combined squad.

also i think that sentinels are good in numbers of 3. If you outflank with them you can do lots of damage.

Also will you be combining your squads if so then you only need 1 Vox-Caster for the entire squad, if not its okay as is but is a bit expensive.

Also finnaly i'd replace the power sword with another melta because that and you hws would be most of your anti-tank.

Good luck in any future battles and go I.G!

Good Luck, and best of rolls.

Second list is an improvement to my mind man, good job.

I definitely think HWTs in the infantry are good, in small games you can't really afford seperate units to advance or shoot, you need to cram guns in where possible.

You could cut 2 voxes without any problems, as said before, 1 per platoon is enough.

The power sword on the CCS is unecessary, just take a 4th melta instead. Everyone wants their commander to be a cool guy who cuts people up, but IG is the wrong army for that! An I3 guardsman in a 5-man squad will probably never get to swing, and if he does will probably miss or fail to wound. Whereas a 4th melta insures you will take out the tank you really need dead.

I'd say that is a pretty good IG list. If you face lots of assault armies, you may end up cutting one infantry squad to load the other platoon up with power weapon sergeants and a commissar (which makes a big squad a good assault unit against space marine types).

One other alternate solution (just a suggestion, won't be a huge gamechanger) is to cut an infantry squad, together with the power weapon and the 2 voxes, that's 85 points, you can upgrade your valkyrie to a vendetta gunship and buy a chimera for your CCS instead. Vendettas are one of the best vehicles in the game, and would add a lot to your long-range firepower.

You could power blob your platoons. basically x3 squads with 1 commissar and as many power weapons, meltabombs, and assault weapons they can carry. Its no ork mob but hey can out up a fight with ld9 stubborn and x4 hidden power swords

Third list about as good as the second, I am also building my IG to include close combat squads, but I think it will probably work better at a full 1500-2000 points when straken or creed are viable options.

Your powerblob looks fine, I would take a meltagun in every squad over the flamer+meltabomb, but it's a matter of taste.

I did prefer LRBTs to basilisks, I think you'll find they are much better protected (in 1k games, meltas are the only thing that usually threatens them, and you can hamper them by screening the LRBTs with your second platoon, thus keeping them out of short range) Obviously to change them back you would need to cut somewhere, probably by dropping a squad from the second platoon.

You are now taking 2 voxes in infantry squads, and none in command squads! Cut them and save 10 points. I'll reiterate this: voxes are useful in some foot armies. It is a priority to put them in CCS which are in a position to give orders (so not, as we discussed, your CCS which is for blitzing vehicles); in blob squads - one per platoon only; and finally in PCS, though sometimes special weapons are better. Basically, have a real network where you've thought about what the orders are for, usually starting with a hidden 'orders' CCS, or just leave the voxes out and treat any orders as a free bonus if they go off.

Last list is looking much better. I prefer to run 4xflamers in a pcs, so that they can flame, and let the blob assault. If possible run meltas in the blob for a bit more anti tank.

I'd blob the second platoon for more ablative wounds. Yes it makes them have to shoot at same target, but you'll end up massing your fire anyway to do any real damage. If you blob them they have to take alot more wounds before they run.

A vanilla valk is really just an expensive transport. The missles it comes with are are not a large blast, so you only have a 50% chance to hit with a two shot weapon. If you want a valk you should take the rocket pods, or even better takeba vendetta. In a 1k list i;d drop the valk and upgrade your basilisks to lrbt's, or demolishers. Take marbo, or a second commisar with extra points

Imperial guard are just too expensive it would take a year or more and a lot of parent money to just get most of the models and it would take just too long to paint them all properly just not for me sorry brethren maybe in a long while
