In the Tau Empire Codex FAQ 1.1, its says this:
"Q: If an ethereal (including Aunʼva) is killed do models
embarked in vehicles have to take a morale check? (p33)
A: No."
It clearyly says models/units embarked in a vehicle don't take the morale test from the Ethereal's price of failure special rule. Would this imply that units in transports never take morale tests or should this be would this immunity be limited to this case?

It has to do with 2 models from 5 rolling gets hot! weapons, and both dying. This normally requires a morale check, however if you fail when embarked you are stuck in a rules issue.
THe OP is suggesting that, while Tau units normally have to take Morale checks embarked units would be exempt, and that this could be construed as meaning that ALL embarked units are exempt from morale checks.

The ruling is not phrased in a way to cover the plasma situation.
But it could be taken as indicative evidence for players seeking similar cases on which to make a house ruling.

I'd say that this is a good indication for what the RAI is. But, GW doesn't always follow it's own precedent, especially in FAQs. So, it doesn't really settle the issue. You're still stuck with having to take the morale test and praying to the dice gods to pass it. Because, if you don't, the game folds back in on itself, tearing the fabric of the universe and allowing creatures from the warp into your LGS or living room. It's not too bad if Daemonettes come through. But, the last time it happened, I ended up having to clean up after some Nurglings. It was harder to get the stains out than the time a Bloodthirster showed up and got little bits of my opponent all over the carpet.

It just says so for the crew of vehicles, not the passengers. There is no rule for handling passengers.

7 Ork facts people always get wrong:
Ragnar did not win against Thrakka, but suffered two crushing defeats within a few days of each other.
A lasgun is powerful enough to sever an ork's appendage or head in a single, well aimed shot.
Orks meks have a better understanding of electrics and mechanics than most Tech Priests.
Orks actually do not think that purple makes them harder to see. The joke was made canon by Alex Stewart's Caphias Cain books.
Gharkull Blackfang did not even come close to killing the emperor.
Orks can be corrupted by chaos, but few of them have any interest in what chaos offers.
Orks do not have the power of believe. |

The house rule we made up (totally made up) is that they take a morale check, and if they fail they disembark that turn, normal disembark rules. The next turn they can try to consolidate if they can, or continue falling back under normal fall back rules.
Our reasoning is that you are all hanging out in your tank, firing some shots then BOOOOM, internal explosions and confusion. Everyone jumps out of the vehicle to figure out whats going on.

We play it that models never test for Ld in vehicles.. Kind of the logic that allthough a rhino isn't as sturdy as a landraider, as long as they are inside a vehicle and it's alive they don't become scared or don't have the ability to leave because maybe they don't control the doors, the crew does and therefore force the inside unit to stay lol. I dunno, it is a pretty big grey area and it states units can only leave on their own accord in the movement phase, or if it is destroyed. That's it from what ive seen, so having the option if them falling back out of the vehicle opens a can of worms the 40k scene is not prepared to deal with lol.. The GK astral aim is bad enough
