How does Thorne of vines work with Cupped hands "lizardmen magic item" ?

I believe it works thus:
Slann rolls double six
Slann rolls 2+ save for throne of vines, if he passes all is fine, if he fails he rolls 2+ to bounce it. If he passes, enemy wizard goes BOOM, if he fails he goes BOOM!

Afaik this wasn't ruled on in the FAQ, so you fall back on to the 'player whose turn it is decides' rule. So you first determine the result of the miscast (importantly you force your opponent to use any nasty stuff like Puppet at this stage), then decide if you want to use Cupped Hands (since with Throne you have to attempt to save). If you use it and roll the 2+ the miscast bounces, if you roll a 1 you still get to use Throne. Similarly if you decide not to use Cupped Hands first (say if its a pretty tame miscast result) and then fail Throne you can still attempt to use Cupped Hands if you want to.

Teh "player who's turn it is decides" ruling was removed from the newest FAQ verion.

It is 03:15am here, so I may have misread/misinterpretted, but there is a ruling like that still in the Lizardmen FAQ...

Ahh it used to be in the BRB FAQ too, now it aint.
Lkely they just removed it from there and spread it around the books that have such miscast affecting gear.
