So I'm thinking of starting a Space Wolves army but I had a few questions about the rules listed in the codex. First off is the Leaders of the Pack rule. It says that each HQ must have a different saga and wargear. Does this just mean they can't have the exact same wargear combinations or they can't have any of the same wargear? Secondly, I saw on the Games Workshop website that the box for a Space Wolves Pack can be assembled as grey hunters, blood claws or wolf guards. Is it obvious which pieces make which? Or is there any clarifications I can get? I don't want to buy the box and find out it's not what I need.

Lastly and on a slightly unrelated note, I found a really great Excel Spreadsheet for my ork army, and I was wondering if there were any similar resources for space wolves players to help organize myself. Thanks

They cannot have the same combination, from memory this is in the FAQ.

Grey Hunters, Blood Claws and Wolf Guards are just differentiated by their equipment. For example you cant have Grey Hunters with Lightning Claws, and Blood Claws cant have Bolters. In addition, Wolf Guards have some special Wolf-shaped helmets, but otherwise all three should look relatively the same apart from weapons.

Hell, I'm not that bothered by the Stormraven. Why? Because, as it stands right now, it's "limited use".When it's shoehorned in to the Codex: Space Marines, then yeah. I'll be irked.

When I'm editing alot, you know I have a gakload of homework to (not) do.

As Nos said, Leaders of the Pack is further clarified and explained in the SW FAQ (p4):

I HIGHLY recommend bookmarking the FAQ/Errata pages on the GW website. And reading the main rulebook one, the ones for whatever armies you play, and whatever armies your common opponents play.

Blood Claws and Grey Hunters are primarily distinguished by equipment and how you paint them. For Wolf Guard, depending on what you want to give them, you might need to pick up some more models/weapon bits, either online or by trading with friends. Wolf Guard can all have special equipment and weapons, and the standard GH/BC box doesn't come with ten powerfists, ten combi-weapons, etc.

Not sure about your Excel question. Someone in the Tournament Discussions forum was just talking about a free program called Battle Scribe, or something similar...
