Subject: 40K Player Starting Fantasy -- Choosing an Army

Guard Heavy Weapon Crewman

Hey guys! As the topic subject should obviously say, I'm a 40K player who's thinking about starting up a Fantasy army.
In 40K I play the Imperial Guard and the Necrons.
The Guard are basic, normal humans who fight and die like tissue paper and are supported by big guns. They survive pretty much through sheer numbers and massed firepower. The normally run like a horde army supported by tanks.
The Necrons are an elite army who are very much like the Tomb Kings but slower and generally sucky at CC with some tricksy moves to teleport und shtuff.
I'm looking to start a Fantasy army. I'm sure I can adapt my playing style fairly easily to adapt to any army, but I'd rather play either a horde army or medium infantry army. I dont like Chaos or Deamons and I cant see myself getting into Elves or Lizardmen.
I guess that pretty much leaves Skaven, Tomb Kings, Empire, Brittania and Vampires.
I'm trying to do my research, but I wanna see if I can get some of your opinions in too.
Who do you think I should play and why?

Skaven, it's cheap with IoB sets available and is probably the most well written army book out. There is a chance your own stuff shoots you in the face but it makes it fun. I assembled a 1500-2,000 pt army for around $200 including doom wheel, warp lightening cannon, grey seer, the stuff from 2 IoB sets, 100 more rats from IoB and the army book.
Empire is also a good choice, they are a very finesse army, but very jack of all trades but also expensive to get into. You'll spend $200+ just getting a 1k army put together.
TK it's hard too say until the book has been out and the experts analyze it. If you wanted to get started blocks of skeleton archers since they are a staple of the army are a safe buy.
Vampires are cool, raising the dead and what not, but it kind of is lacking in shooting/warmachines and their close combat is meh, so they heavily rely on magic.
Bad thing about undead is they cannot do anything but stand for a charge reaction and in some cases cannon march, and there is a key character and if they die your army starts losing wounds/models every turn.

Thus, After having thus successively taken each member of the community in its powerful grasp and fashioned him at will, the supreme power then extends its arm over the whole community. It covers the surface of society with a network of small complicated rules, minute and uniform, through which the most original minds and the most energetic characters cannot penetrate, to rise above the crowd. The will of man is not shattered, but softened, bent, and guided; men are seldom forced by it to act, but they are constantly restrained from acting. Such a power does not destroy, but it prevents existence; it does not tyrannize, but it compresses, enervates, extinguishes, and stupefies a people, till each nation is reduced to nothing better than a flock of timid and industrious animals, of which the government is the shepherd

Yea, apparently the Tomb King's Liche Priests make the army fall apart if they die in the same way you just described the Vamps doing.
Whats your opinion on Brittonia?

I've only been iun the hobby for a year or so never played them. But I am hip to this guy's battle reports on youtube:

IMO there is nothing more beautiful in the game then a brettonian army with knights with their unique heraldry and "family" color scheme. They are probably up for an update in the next 12 -18 months as well but can be competitive if played right, it's all about getting buffs and getting the charge. Their trebuchet is considered to be the best warmachine in the game, and I believe it is because most stone throwers were nerfed to Str3 and this one has retained the Str5.
