I was just wondering if you roll a 6 and have the Baron, will that give you a 7, thereby making it impossible for the opponent to tie you on the deployment roll?

I ask because if you allow this, then technically rolling a 7 or higher on the vehicle damage table won't actually do anything to the vehicle, because the only description for vehicle explodes is for rolling a 6.

Yes, you can "roll" a 7. Nothing caps the roll for deployment choice to 6

Take another look at the vehicle damage table. It is destroyed-explodes on a "6 or more", not just a '6'.

And yes you would add one to the dice roll with the Baron so yes if you roll a '6' your opponent would not even be able to tie.
That's the reason for the rule!

And, in case youre concerned - since at least 6th this has happened in fantasy, as the side that finishes deploying first usually gains +1 to the roll to decide first turn.
