Hi there,
First available in limited numbers at the recent Forge World Open Day, we can now announce that the Eldar Wraithseer and Corsair Conversion Kit are available for all Eldar players to pre-order.

Eldar Wraithseer available to pre-order now

Rare and precious beyond compare, their souls protected from the predations of Slaanesh within spirit stones, long-dead Warlocks of great power can still be summoned to aid their Craftworld in the form of a Wraithseer. Armed with a lethal D-Cannon and a Wraithblade wreathed in the eldritch energy of their psychic arts, a Wraithseer is a terrible and implacable foe.

The Eldar Wraithseer, designed by Will Hayes, is a complete resin and plastic kit available to pre-order now for despatch in the week commencing 26th April.

Forge World’s Book Design team have provided these experimental rules, taken from the forthcoming book Imperial Armour Volume 11: The Doom of Mymeara to enable any Eldar army to field one of these ancient war machines.

Eldar Corsair conversion kit available to pre-order now

There are many bands of so-called ‘Corsair’ Eldar scattered across the galaxy, and all are savage and deadly raiders. Outcasts from the strict confines of the Craftworlds, the Corsairs live in self-imposed exile, seeking to explore the galaxy and experience the full gamut of emotion and sensation accessible to the Eldar’s sensitive psyche.

Most are young and adventurous Eldar who will eventually return to their homes older, wiser and tempered by warfare. Some, however, embrace the raider’s life completely and fall further still, becoming ever more bloodthirsty and psychotic, indulging their darkest impulses and eventually seeking out the infamous Dark City. The Corsair warbands will be playing a major role in the forthcoming book Imperial Armour Volume 11: The Doom of Mymeara.

The Eldar Corsair Conversion Kit is designed for use with the plastic Eldar range. Designed by Will Hayes, this resin upgrade kit contains detailed weapons, jump packs and heads that enable Eldar players to convert ten plastic Eldar Guardians into Corsairs, and is available to pre-order now for despatch in the week commencing 26th April.

At first I loathed the corsairs since I couldn't think of a good use for the bitz in an eldar army. However, I think they would make cool warp spiders and those blasters could be turned into or counts as death spinners. Also, the power weapon will suffice for exarch power blades.

I must attain.

I like the rules on the wraithseer from a wraith army pov. I just wish the codex could use them. Assume that since a MC is wielding the spear it will ingore armor saves yes?

Any idea of a size for the Wraithseer?
Would he be Avatar-esque?

40 euros isnt bad value imo for the stats/points you get.

So S10, T8, WS 5, BS 4, 4W, I4, 3+/5++, Super Prefered Enemy, AND Psychic Powers for 185 points. Not bad...at least not when you compare it to the Nid codex.

He's basically the same size as the Wraithlord model, as it is a conversion of that kit.

And, seeing as I'll never be able to afford my favorite Titan, The Warlock Titan, this mini Warlock 'Titan' fits the bill nicely!

Yes, I can't see how they could ever be warpspiders without extensive conversion.

The USS Orinoco was a Federation Danube-class runabout that was in service with Starfleet in the late 24th century, attached to Deep Space 9. It was outfitted with a sensor pod.

I have been slowly building an Eldar army for my 7 year old son. To date I have avoided getting Wraithgaurd, but this model looks awesome, and I love the fact that the experimental rules give it a 12" bubble for the Wraithgaurds/Lords. I think I foresee some money draining out of my account very soon...

At str 10 is there anything he wouldn't be wounding on a 2+? Seems like a normal wraithsword rules set to me. Unless you want to charge him against that one gargantuan nurgle daemon which has toughness 9? Or am I misremembering that guy?

I like the helms on the corsairs, much more like the old Rogue Trader ones. I woul dlike to get some. Unfortunately, at £1.8 per figure, it is never going to happen. Pity.

Am I the only one that isn't impressed by these? A slightly re-posed wraithlord and some guardians with new guns and jet wings? From the descriptions, I was expecting a lot more. Forgeworld dropped the ball on this one, methinks.

The Hazard stuff is just fine when you look at it as what it's sold as "Hazardous Operations".
People are just whining about it because it's not what they wanted(greatcoats) when the early iterations were being billed as 'Snow Cadians'.

As for the Wraithseer, I don't know how much of it is resin in the painted example they have--but it looks like quite a bit.

I didn't say that people weren't justified in being annoyed by it.

But it still comes down to most of the complaints about the HazOps not being what people wanted.

I hope these become an option when the next Eldar Codex is released. If so, I'm going to be spending a lot of money....

I love the Wraithseer, and and the recent models Forgeworld as been pumping out, for the Eldar.

Wow... as a long term eldar player I got to say I'm dissapointed.

Wraithseer- Model look s great... but not much different than the current wraithlord (good think he looks awsome too). And the rules just seem pointless. The stat line is a nice boost for the wraithlord but lets see: Wraith spear reroll hits and +2 to wound... um the old wraithlord could also reroll to hit and was S10(!) wtf is the point of +2 to wound?, the 5+ invul save is what makes the +35 points worth it, and all the psychic powers seem pretty usless besides the first. lol if you roll a 1/6 ur wraithlord/guard survive! who wants to take that chance? and OMG my wraithguard/lord who suck in CC can fleet!? NFW... lol dumb

and im just all around unimpressed with the corsair model kit.

Going to chock this one up to one of Forgeworlds few Fails. Just hope they arent using these rules as ideas for the next codex... dear god

I know so this literally only gives him a bonus against MC who have less I than he does... so how many MC have I3 or lower? ummm Carnifexes and Unclean ones... who playes either of those anymore in the competative field?... not many if any

Surprisingly, it doesn't look that impressive for a wraithlord. I think you could convert one of the plastic models just as easily. And the Corsairs look like guardians with a weapon swap and huge flags on their back.

I think you would be better off merging bits from the new DE line instead.

A more pertinent question is surely, who "in the competitive field" lets you run Forgeworld experimental rules?

The supply does not get to make the demands.

A walking t8 d cannon at bs4 is nasty. It might be expensive, but an extra wound and a 5++ is going to be necessary if your opponent spots the trouble they're in. That and some wraithguard as a shield would act as a great fire magnet while the rest of your army gets to work.

Not yet sold on the corsair "fairies" yet. I know eldar can look a bit fragile but that seems to be a little far, despite the rt references.
