No, instant death prevents WBB.

Where is this stated? Is it in the necron dex or a FAQ? I am new to 40 k and have not read all of the dexes as many times as I should have.

Dont think so. WBB is kinda like a FNF. They can still use WBB if they get ID, If in range of a resurection orb tho.

It's in the rules for WBB

Instant Death denies WBB, whether or not you still get an armour / other save. If you have a res orb you still get to make WBB, however.

Actually, ID only denies it if it comes from a weapon that has a str that is twice the toughness of the necron. A Necron that was killed by a weapon that allowed armour saves but inflicted instant death for some reason would still get its WBB, as long as the weapon in question didn't have a strength value of twice or more the necron's toughness.

EDIT: I can't think of any scenarios where this would apply, now... Forget what I said...

There are quite a few weapons (new ctan blade) that cause ID on every wound.

Read the necron FAQ - WBB is denied against ALL wbb.

Waiting for my shill money from Spiral Arm Studios

a necron wouldn't get WBB against a GK Autocannon with Psybolts.

its Str8(double the cron's T), but it doesnt't pierce the armor save.

if a weapon is Str8+ or disallows armor saves of any kind in CC, the cron doesn't get WBB.

a Rez Orb overrides all of these restrictions
