Thats my 1000P you couldn't stand up too that remember I could make my Librarians Str 10. Heck I almost have as many models. I would say a redo.

Your list would be fun though. But it's not good at this point cost.

If I had too choose I would say the Buggies the Buggies have a AV and would act as a good screen for the BW's if your determines for this list.

Though both choices have their uses, i'd have to say go with the buggies. They fit better with what you have going on!

So, then, is it just BAD to take BWs at 1000 points?

BWs are just fine at 1000 points. You list is nice as well. The only thing I'd change is to split up that 15 man mob of lootas into 3, 5 man mobs.

Onto your first point, I like both buggies and koptas but in a smaller point list like this you don't really have the points for both. Go with the 2 koptas.

I think if you are looking at competitive for 1k you really can't go wrong with just a mass tide of boyz on foot. At this point level it's too much for almost any army to handle at this low of points.

Thus, After having thus successively taken each member of the community in its powerful grasp and fashioned him at will, the supreme power then extends its arm over the whole community. It covers the surface of society with a network of small complicated rules, minute and uniform, through which the most original minds and the most energetic characters cannot penetrate, to rise above the crowd. The will of man is not shattered, but softened, bent, and guided; men are seldom forced by it to act, but they are constantly restrained from acting. Such a power does not destroy, but it prevents existence; it does not tyrannize, but it compresses, enervates, extinguishes, and stupefies a people, till each nation is reduced to nothing better than a flock of timid and industrious animals, of which the government is the shepherd

I feel like it's pretty solid, but Inquisitor seems to think he'd have me.

His list looks impressive, but I'm not really sure how I couldn't stand up to it.

First, I'd recommend splitting your lootas up into 3 squads as you've got the extra elite slots, or at least 2 squads - they can still hang out together but this way they can shoot at different targets if the first 5 kill the first target.

I'd take buggies if it were me, but that's because I have some sort of utter hatred for deffkoptas, don't ask me why, I don't know, I just hate them. I always take them out first, I converted my ones from AOBR into snowmobiles, I just hate deffkoptas.

I play:
Imperial Fists - 9000 pts
Tyranids - 1500 pts

Yeah, the reason I put al the Lootas in one squad is to cut down on the available KPs, but I agree that having the ability to shoot at more targets is better.
I'll split em up.

The AoBR models are cake to paint, but you have to do it BEFORE you assemble. I learned that on my very first one.
I hate the old models.
Also
I played this list this weekend, with buggies, and it did very well.
I may play it again, but I also think we are moving up to 1500 in the near future, so it's more or less a moot point.

You kill his 10 troops and hell lose 2/3 missions unless your troops die too.

I think that's a really good list. Fast & mobile with massed fire-power available & invul saves for most things. Definitely split the lootas... two squads of 7 should work fine. 8 KPs isn't bad for a 1000 pt army, and you have enough different units that you can target multiple enemies in a single turn while giving him tough choices about what to go after first.

Honestly, it was the most fun I have ever had with Ork shooting.
20 Boyz shooting out of an open topped BWs, 15 lootas, dual Big Shootas on the wagons them selves, and 3 TL rokkits a turn? Hundred plus shots a turn!
I was laying down the wounds, but I was also rolling well.
I think I never landed less than 8 wounds, and averaged more like 11, per boyz unit.
I also only disembarked in the end for fun.

That's the cool thing... ork boyz don't give up much by being shoota's, and they gain an entire separate threat. Much more versatile.

Enjoy!
