Still haven't decided on lore, and as I play casually with friends, we aren't fans of having to choose per list. It's more fun to pick random lores some times right before a game.

dont break down the points cost of units and up grades only give the total cost of the unit, simplify the list for example you lord choice as follows

Arch Lector, War Altar, Sword of Striking, Dawn Armor, Speculum 305

makes it much easier to read

as for the list i recommend halberds over swordsmen, more models plus the strength bonus more than makes up for the hit on the armor save

detachments for empire are a key tactic to success read up on them if you havent already done so

for the knights i suggest not taking great weapons, 1 you losing a point on armor save which makes the knights so good, 2 great weapons strike last, 3 only +1 str where lances are +2 strength on the charge(such a small unit of knights are not going to be holding a unit down for very long and are mainly good for the turn they charge when it comes to cc), 4 if you want the extra +1 str for later rounds of combat go with knights of the inner circle better ws and better st(and if you still want the gw they will be str 5 instead of str4)

as far as the hand gunners drop the hochland long rifles they are way over priced for what they do spend the points on more state troops imo

on a side note one of my favorite empire core choices
40 halbierds full command w/20 swordsmen detachment putting a warrior priest with the halbierds make them a mean unit in the first round of cc, run as either horde or steadfast unit depending on opponent the detachment doesnt cause other units to panic when they get smashed too

According to the general consensus over at warhammer-empire.com, detachments are subpar this edition which is why they are left off this list.

As for the format, I just work with what army builder puts out, and this is the easiest format to read, and even then I had to remove item costs for magic gear. The knights are flaming regen hunters if there isn't a flank to charge.

GW on mounts are NOT +1 str, ever. People need to get this 7th edition concept out of their heads.

3 long rifles exist to statistically get that one or 2 wounds per turn on key targets.

I have always, and will always, prefer swordsmen to halberdiers, even if i sacrifice some killing power for it.
