Hello out there,
while just checking the options of Inquisitor Wargear on the Malleus varient, something sreamed at me:
You can have a Power Fist or a Nemesis Deamon Hammer for the same point cost.
As I understand the rules - WHAT THE F***?
I do not see any advantage of taking the Fist. Is there something I missed?
Or is it the same stupid error like Warlord Titans Volcano Cannon vs Melta Cannon?
Edit: And what is about Terminator + Psyker upgrade? Can I decide to NOT take the force weapon, claiming that I take the "terminator + Hammer" upgrade "after" the upgrade to a psyker?

It makes a difference if you're fighting daemons with "Blessing of the Blood God".

No you may not. To swap for terminator armour, you must have the prerequisite items to exchange (namely bolt pistol and chainsword). If you exchange one of those for a force weapon first, then you no longer have "bolt pistol and chainsword" to replace for terminator armour. This means that for a termi-psyker-inquisitor, you can only have the Hammer/Force Weapon or Force Weapon/Ranged Weapon.

Nice one- I first thought about Kharn, but his ability of the same name works different.
And after a check in the Rulebook, it turned out for me that force weapons do not necessary have to "activate" to become "force weapons" instead of being power weapons.
So yeah, that's a huge difference with a 2++.

No, they are ALWAYS force weapons. When you activate them they gain an additional ability
The 2++ is against *all* force weapons, whether you attempt the ID psychic power or not.

Motohead - no, that isnt waht you said. You said you have to "activate" a force weapon to turn it into a force weapon, which is NOT true.

I'd say that's actually exactly what he said...
