Rookie SW player here, but was just curious, do you guys think a drop pod with long fangs and Logan is a good idea? because i figure i could give them relentless so they can fire as soon as they drop? then after that tank hunter over and over? good idea?

Works fairly scary when the Long Fangs have Multi Meltas.

It's okay but is fairly expensive and you risk losing Gimnar pretty easily...
OTOH if you had your entire army drop podding in... well that would be a different matter.

You need to go all drop pod otherwise you risk having logan overwhelmed and you could pod 5 WG with CM if not full d pod

Eh I don't plan on running a drop pod list I plan on doing it msu style.. how should I run logan in my army if I'm doing msu style? Or should I even run him at all?

If you want to an MSU army you need 5 things:

1 Long Fangs
2 Razorbacks
3 Landspeeders
4 Dakkadreads
5 Grey Hunters with melta in rhinos (with wolf guard sergant)

It can be done with MSU, but he's a bit pricey in that particular army style.

You don't need to go all drop pods with Logan and Long Fangs in a drop pod. You do need to give your opponent multiple threats that makes it very hard for him to prioritize. What does your opponent do when you drop Logan/Longfangs (multi melta, SGT w/ Powerfist) and a Wolfguard in Terminator armor/Stormshield as well as looking at Wolf Lords on TWC running up at him as well. Not too mention the Grey Hunters in Rhino/Razorbacks?

It's about giving him several hard choices. It is also a smallish army so you need to understand how to maximize movement and cover to hit with several threats.

It is about putting him in a situation where he does not have the time to do something about your units doe to the linits of only being abel to target one with each of his. You can do drop pod melta sueside, the only problem is that they often are your scooring units. :-/

@ nilai; whats a dakkadread? i know its a dreadnought but whats the loadout? and instead of the dreads could i do preds and be just as effective?
@sarigar; thanks for the tips, ive noticed in the few games ive played that my army is to easy to pick apart... its probably exactly what i need, more threats, ie. more firepower

A dreadnaught armed with 2 twin linked auto cannons, spitting out a lot of anti transport destruction.............. the melta game today is mostly about kicking the guys out of the transports first and deal with the other heavy tanks later.

Whilst I have never seen it done, I have heard that It can be very nasty if you gear them up right. I'd go with two mulit-metlas and two missile launchers. That way you can deal with both tanks and infantry.
