I am not new to 40k ive been playing for four years now. However for most of that time I played Blood Angels. I found, when I began looking at forums, that there were some staple squad formations (ie the ten man assault squad with PF and 2 melta guns). Now I'm going to start to collect space Vikings and I'm wondering if there are any common sense formations for this chapter. I already know that rune priests are a must (and can be SUPER cheesy) as are long fangs. So I'm looking for advice on squad load outs and heroes, any advice would be much appreciated dakkaites

You're going for a competitive list?
4 Rune Priests of varying load outs and powers-Chooser of the slain is pretty good IMO
4-6x9 Grey Hunters with 1 Melta gun, Mark of the Wulfen and a Banner. Mounted in a Rhino Each squad has a Wolf Guard Pack Leader armed with a power fist and a combi-melta.
3x6 Long Fangs-5 Missile launchers. Razorback is optional.

That's a pretty competitive list... it is very cheesy as well...
There is also another option with TWC but i try to avoid them as much as possible...

Yea but i game in a small gaming community I'm pretty sure people would get fed up with me if i played a super cheese list like that
On the topic of Rune Priests is the goal to keep them as cheap as possible or is it a good idea to give them some wargear upgrades?
