Does this mean I can use either of the books? As it doesnt say that I cant.

Technically it is a running series and I started it all with the current book.

It's likely you'll have to switch over once the new book comes out since they have some changes like with magic. That and new characters would make a big difference.

Using the logic of "it doesn't say i can't" usually will get people into trouble so try and avoid that when possible.

It implies you can use either, HOWEVER the usual rule for tournaments is to only use the most recent book, and using the older book may be frowned upon.
