My questions revolve around two topics, Combi-Weapons and Relentless. Really need everyone's help on clarifying this issue.

1. After shooting a combi weapon, can you assault. I am a space wolves player and the book describes combi weapons as basically a modified bolter. Now going off of the fact that it is a bolter, I would assume that you cannot assault after firing it in the shooting phase. To further complicate matters, does it matter if you are firing the special weapon portion of the weapon? For example a meltigun is an assault weapon, yet a plasma gun is a rapid fire. So will a Wolf Guard in power armor be able to assault after shooting the combi-weapon in the shooting phase?

2. Now on to Terminators and the the Universal Special Rule: Relentless. Pg. 76 of the BRB says that "Relentless models can shoot with rapid fire and heavy weapons counting as stationary, even if they moved in the previous Movement phase, and are also allowed to assault in the same turn they fire them." Does this translate to being able to move in the Movement phase, and then shoot a weapon at its maximum distance, example: one shot from a bolter at 24 inches.

Again Thanks for the help.

"You call yourselves true warriors. With Your palaces and fountains. Your medals and parades? I grasped my first axe when I was still in my birth-caul. I earned my first wolfskin whin I was Still a whelp. I've been fighting every single day of my life, son. Perhaps you're today's challenge, eh?

If you're not Relentless, you can't fire assault after firing a Rapid Fire weapon. When using a combi-weapon, and the other profile is an Assault profile (i.e., combi-melta and combi-flamer), you can assault. When firing the bolter part or the combi-plasma, you can't assault.

Yes, as you always count as stationary, even if you move, you can fire a single shot at maximum distance (or two shots at 12") with a Rapid Fire weapon, and still assault if you are close enough.

1) what counts is the profile of the "combi" part of the weapon

So a PA guy cannot assault after firing the "plasma" part of a combi plasma, as the Plasmagun profile is Rapid Fire. However both flamers and meltas are assault, so you COULD assault.

The fact it is jioned to a bolter is irrelevant to this.

2) Yes, with relentless you always "count as" stationary when it comes to firing heavy or rapid fire weapons, so can always fire bolters at 24".

As the others said:

A) It depends on which profile you used that turn. If you fired it as the melta or flamer part, that's Assault, and doesn't prevent you from assaulting. If you fired the Bolter part, or the combi-Plasma part, that's Rapidfire, and will prevent you from assaulting.

B)...Unless of course you have Relentless. In which case you can fire a Rapidfire or Heavy weapon while moving, as if you were stationary, AND still assault if you like.
