I was checking this: http://wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/Animus_speculum ...and I have an idea for some of my own models/army/story/everything that might center around some tech very much like this. I've been thinking about it for a number of years, and to my surprise it seems that I'll actually have a good opportunity to expand on it further soon. Suffice it to say, I want to explore warp-based technology and its potential to a far greater degree than is normally seen throughout the Imperium...

Can anyone tell me what they know about this, or any other warp based weaponry (or armor/gear/etc.)?

It isn't "fluff" - it's lore.

That's what the Chaos Marines want you to think.

Kai Guns are really powered by Hugs and Bunnies and Ponies.

Ever notice that Kai Gun operators always wore more spikes than the rest?
Clearly compensating for something!

On topic though: "Warp-based technology" isn't really that common. The Animus Speculum is kind of a weird one as it doesn't really operate because of the Warp itself, but rather the unique properties of the operators.
The Culuxeus are what's called by the Imperium 'Blanks' or 'Pariahs'.
They have no presence, whatsoever, within the Warp. It causes humans to feel discomfited around them, psykers are physically repulsed by their presence. They are essentially immune to psychic attacks against themselves because of this property, and they in essence channel some of that 'Blank' aspect into the Speculum, causing it to be used to shut down psykers from afar.

The same way psychic amplification devices work, only it effects "negative" psychic energies such as those used by the Culexus, and Blanks in general.

The people in the past who convinced themselves to do unspeakable things were no less human than you or I. They made their decisions; the only thing that prevents history from repeating itself is making different ones.

Interesting...if that's all there is to it then, I think I have plenty of room to expand on my ideas XD Thanks all!
