Eye of Terror... I think

So Im out in okinawa japan and I just found out that the warstore cant mail me any spray cans to primer my armies! Ive always done it this was with either Privateer Press, or Army painter primers.

Is there any other fast efficient way to paint my army without spray cans? does the GW spray gun work? Is there a primer that you guys can think of that I can just buy in a hardwear store or something?

Help! I need to start painting some minis!

I would think that Japan has it's own hobby stores that sell their own brand of primers. Do you have someone who can help you find what you are looking for in a local place? GW has a presence in Japan, they might be able to ship spray primer from the Japanese Website as well.

But Im not in japan Im on okinawa. lol BIG difference. There is a hobby store somewere here on the island over an hour drive from me that deals in 40k goods, none of the people there speak english and am honestly just trying to find a more convenient way of primering my models.

Sorry, just saw the Japan part. I have had mixed success with hardware store spray paints. You just really have to pay attention to get an actual primer, or else you will have a hard time painting over it.

Just a thought; have you considered trying Tamiya sprays?

Aye, a lot of online stores don't ship aerosol cans abroad. I believe Wayland Hames does though. At least they've shipped primer overseas for me before, but the Netherlands is of course a lot closer to the UK than Okinawa is.

Tamiya would seem the obvious choice. I'd think they would have no issues shipping to Okinawa and/or may have a dstribution point there.

Somewhere in south-central England.

Tamiya do plenty of colour sprays. They don't seem to do a primer spray, which probably means their paints are fine on unprimed plastic.

If you want a primer for safety -- wargame figures aren't display models and get a lot of handling -- there are various primers available from hardware and graphics arts shops. I don't know any Japanese brand names, though.

Can you get someone who speaks even a bit of Japanese to help you?

If you can overcome delivery issues Gunze-Sangyo, 'Mr. Surfacer' from Japan is the best primer I've ever used for models.

just don't buy a filler primer as this will fill up the detail, I know it's a stupid thing to say but you never know when confronted by a huge display of primers t might be helpfull to know not to grab the wrong thing.
