A made up tank for my SotTR American force:

Experiments were done at the end of the war to mount the M26 Pershing Turret on the Sherman but the project was dropped, Later the Isrealis upgunned the Sherman with a French 105mm gun in the standard 76mm turret, so I figured why not?

Nicely done, the British pulled off the Firefly so I am sure with a little tinkering the 90mm gun in the Sherman would have been doable. The only question is, would it have made more sense to just produce the Pershing or upgrade the Sherman? The Pershing was much more survivable so I'd stay with the Pershing.

The black rage is within us all. Lies offer no shield against the inevitable. You speak of donning the black of duty for the red of brotherhood; but it is the black of rage you shall wear when the darkness comes for you.

The US Army were worried that the M26 would not be the right tank for all situations due to its weight and wanted a lighter tank with the same firepower, so they experimented with putting the Pershing turret on the Sherman, they did after all have a few knocking about . This seemed to have worked quite well but the war was all but over, spending was being slashed and it was felt that it would slow down M26 production so it got dropped.

Im really happy with how it turned out, Im thinking of doing an M50 type of thing now with a 75/L70.
