Ok, so I had a thread over in the P&M section for this WIP, and now she is done, so wanted to show it off and see what everyone thought! Sorry about the shine on the model, I had the light positioned wrong I guess, she doesnt shine that much when viewing with the eye, but I still think it came out pretty well for a first time conversion! Also, it is not very easy to see the highlights, because I didn't do strong ones, I did subtle highlights that were then washed with the appropriate color to tone them down further, but they are there if you look! Hope youe like it, and please feel free to comment!!

Nice gore! I did something similar with my Epic Butcher and Doom Reavers... they were practically covered in blood.

Thanks, I found out that if I painted it with Elf Flesh, then watered down Red Gore, and then put a gloss Varnish on it, it gives it that nice "There's still blood pumping over this flesh" look.

That's a nice conversion. If the paint job is as shiny as the picture in real life, I would recommend using a coat or two of Matte Varnish it will tone down some of the shine and will slightly blend the colours you have already painted. It will also protect the paintjob from wear and tear.

Not that shiny, had lights wrong. It is actually a clear poly that is on it, and it only gives a very slight shine under most lights, but I had a magnifying glass lamp between the camera and the mini( I do love that lamp for painting details!

) and I think that is what caused the glare off the mini.

However, I do have a question, if you don't mind. The best Varnish I have been able to find is a clear poly, haven't been able to find a Matte one. Tried lowes and home depot, where should I be looking?

You can buy Anti Shine Matt Varnish spray from here http://usshop.thearmypainter.com/products.php?ProductGroupId=2 but I have heard that lots of things can go wrong with spray varnish. I use the old GW matte varnish but i dont think GW sell it anymore.

Love the stance of the model, but you have put to much pain on both the models try putting some less paint on the brush
