hi guys, just wandering what you think is the best combo for henchmen units. Me? I go with 1:3 crusader and death cult assassin unit lol

I've been using:
7 Warriors with Storm Bolters
3 Warriors with Storm Bolters and Plasma Guns
2 Lasertangs

They get the job done.

This is an actual rule in the actual rulebook. Quit whining about how you can imagine someone's army touching you in a bad place and play by the actual rules.

"Best" is a VERY subjective term.

BEST at killing armored infantry in combat? Cultists

BEST at killing Tanks/hordes in combat? Arcos

BEST at shooting Land Raiders? Acolytes with meltaguns

BEST at shooting light tanks at 48"? Jokaero

BEST at not taking damage? Crusaders

questions like this a just so vague that they are kinda pointless. This is even more true when it comes to a unit like henchmen that can be build in a TON of different ways.

As a side note, Why Jokaero and Plasma? The plasma guns do not gain much from either the extra range or rending. The armor helps some I guess for gets hot and the INV save buff is okay I guess.

My Jokaero unit is
2 Jokaero
3 Melta guns
5 Storm Bolters

I would much rather have a Jokaaro and Meltaguns. Move 12", Disembark 2", 12" Melta range gives you a 26" Melta Threat range. Rending is good for the Heavy Flamers and Storm Bolters. armor and 5++ upgrade is decent but not my favorite. You can shoot at range, shoot close up and can target vehicles and infantry depending on the upgrades you get.
