Jorrael IV is a barren and lifeless world with a chlorine atmosphere which billows large, toxic storm clouds over a hellish red landscape. The earth is just as dangerous as Jorrael's tectonic movements wreak havoc upon the surface with regular pyroclastic flows. It is on this treacherous planet that the Hive Fleet Pheonix lands an invasion horde to begin its infestation of the sector. Swarms of the crimson and black creatures slither and claw their way with contempt on Jorrael's impossible terrain. From the cloud cover drop Mycetic Spores which delivers even more Tyranids to their movements. But, as they swarm into a valley adjacent to an active volcano and and a terraced platform of land, several of the first Termagaunts report through their advanced psychic abilities that they spotted several bodies raising themselves from the ground across the valley. For across the way, the Necrons, foes of all life, the purgers of Jorrael IV, have been awakened after laying dormant for more than twenty thousand years. Black, metal hands surged from the ground, grasping to stifle the lifeforce of the living things foolish enough to return to Jorrael IV. As the necron warriors clawed their way through the earth, a massive fissure erupted from the ground and with a bolt of lightning to signify his arrival, the Deceiver himself had arrived to partake in the purge that was to happen. Two faceless enemies face one another on the jagged land of Jorrael in an intial bid for control of the planet.
( Game Type/Deployment: Seize Ground/Spearhead)

Necron List: 1 Deceiver, 2 squads of warriors, 1 Tomb Spyder, 3 Destroyers, 2 Heavy Destroyers

Tyranid List: 1 horde of Hormogaunts, 3 Warriors (1 prime), Trygon Prime, 3 Ripper Swarms, Hive Tyrant, 1 horde of Genestealers.

Objectives: Volcano, Hoodoo rock formation, top of hill, bottom of hill, and Mycetic Spore (yep, if the necrons kill it, they receive one point)

Turn 1: Nids- The tyranid hordes surge forward, eager to rend apart the foe that had risen before them. Their numbers eat up ground quickly as the Hormogaunts enter a small valley of Hoodoos (small spires of rock which are formed by erosion), taking hold of an objective.
Necrons- The Destroyers and Heavy Destroyers hovered to a superior position, the uppermost terrace of the hills, overlooking the oncoming hordes. Brilliant green lights flared from the giant guns mounted on their arms, followed by the crack of the sound barrier booming as one Tyranid warrior explodes in a cloud of green goo. On the ground, the gleaming bronze form of the Deceiver levitated into the air as he raised a massive hand in the direction of the Hormogaunts. A deep, cruel laugh echoed throughout the canyon as he willed the creatures to writhe in agony as he overloaded their synapses with his fel power.

Turn 2: Nids- The Trygon Prime's massive form slithered along the jagged valley bottom as it clacked its giant scything talons together, eager to rip apart the C'tan. With its maw spread wide and claws raised in the air, the behemoth lunged with unbelievable speed towards the Deceiver. With a wry smile, he disappeared in a blur, the valley walls echoing with his mocking laugh. Enraged at losing one of their own, the warriors scamper up the steep slopes of the hill towards the destroyers. On a higher terrace slope, swarms of rippers bored through the earth and emerged. The lumps of gnashing teeth aimed to claim the hilltop. The Hormogaunt horde squirmed as their consciousnesses were assailed by the Deceiver's unrelenting power.
Necrons- One squad of warriors entered the battlefield where they bided their time to move. Realizing the hill was lost, the Destroyers strafed west off the slopes of their beseiged position while the Heavy destroyers moved east to engage the Hive Tyrant. Another imulsion of green left only a wounded Prime alive. Just as suddenly as the Deceiver dissapeared, he phased into existence for the briefest of seconds to throw a devastating punch at the Trygon. This cat-and-mouse tactic continued as in rapid succession he teleported to dodge the sweeps of the monsters blades and deliver his own deadly counterattacks. However quick and crafty the star god was, the Trygon's ferocious talons scored a deep gash into the Bronze figure's body. Finally tired of toying with the beast, the Deceiver rematerialized with his arms wrapped around the beast. Hefting the Trygon above his head, the weary beast thrashing for freedom, it came down hard upon the Deceiver's knee, shattering its spinal column. Wracked with incredible pain, the broken creature could not support its own weight. With a contemptuous smile, the C'tan smashed his heel through its skull, ending its torment.

Turn 3: Nids- From the east flank poured the Genestealer horde as they raced towards the Heavy Destroyers, thirsting to rend the living metal beings limb from limb. With horrifying efficiency, the ancient, hovering beings are swept asunder. From above, the screaming sound of a falling Mycetic Spore reached fever pitch before thudding into the earth below, directly in front of the Necron Warriors, however it tentacled barbs failed to permanently decomission any warriors, which reassembled themselves with contemptuous ease. With a massive roared that too echoed through the valley, the Hive Tyrant fired a corrosive volley from its venom cannon into the warriors, flensing and dissolving the metal of the Necron unlucky enough to evade the slow-moving projectile. The determined Warrior Prime moved to follow the ones responsible for his breathren's demise.
Necrons- The wave of warriors ahead of the Genestealers aim and proceed to open fire, but manage to only atomize one of the advancing creatures. Seeking to drive the infestation from the hoodoo stacks, the Deceiver then focused his attention on the Hormagaunt brood as they still struggled to clear the psychic assault. With cackling laughter he charged and cut a bloody swath into the brood as he easily cast aside the fragile rock formations with his strides and proceeded to individually pick up the Tyranids and crush them in his hands. The Tomb Spyder, determined to preserve the Necron Warriors met the Genestealers head on and proceeded to rend several to pieces with its impossibly sharp claws, taking damage itself.

Turn 4:Nids-The Ripper Swarms finally summit the hill, taking the objective under their control and securing a superior position. The Warrior Prime closed the distance between itself and the destroyers, dodging the green flashes of energy and with its great blades, leaves the squadron of jetbikes in an unrecognizable pile of scrap metal; the bone swords bit into the Destroyers metal forms with ease and tore them apart. The Hive Tyrant then proceeded to lash its whip around the Spyder, immobilizing it, and with one fell stroke of its blade, rended the creature in half and proceeded to stamp the metallic creature into its components. The Spyder screeched in agony as it was pulverized into nothing. Seeing the Tyrant as a much more potent threat, the Deceiver teleported away from the Gaunts and made its way for a confrontation.
Necrons- The second squad of Necron warriors arrived behind the Genestealers and with their flanks exposed, took full advantage of their ancient technology. When the light subsided, the ashy, dead remains of the Genestealers were scattered into the winds. At that same moment, the other squad of troops fire into the Spore, which squealed as the Necron weapons burned into the thick, fleshy pads of the pod. Seeing the approaching Deceiver, the Tyrant roared and faced him, taking the brunt of the charge. The Deceiver snarled as he dodged the swipe of the bone sword and slugged the creature in the diaphragm, causing the Tyrant to recover into a better position. The second battle of the giants was to begin.

Turn 5:Nids- The combined fire of the Spore's defensive mechanisms and the Spinefists of the elevated Ripper Swarms down 2 more necrons, which prompt them to disengage and return under more favorable circumstances in which they will have the upper hand. They leave the battle. The Tyrant, regaining its balance swings with lethal force at the Deceiver, who at the last second grabbed the limb holding the blade and redirected it away from him. Still holding on and knocking his adversary off balance, the Deceiver roared as he twisted and broke the blade off of the Tyrant, causing it to roar in surprise and agony. Without hesitation, the Star God wheeled about and drove the blade into the back of the falling creature's head, ending the conflict.
Necrons- The warriors unleash another lethal salvo of green light and Spore withered in its glow, a dead and lifeless husk of chitin, scoring a point. In the aftermath of his second fight, the Deceiver then lept to the summit of the hill and laid waste to the swarms of rippers, denying the Aliens the tactical advantage of the high ground.

The surviving prime ordered the remaining Gaunts to fall back for reinforcements, which would arrive within the hour. Breathing heavy atop the summit of the hill as an acrid rain began to fall on the wasteland, the Deceiver took this moment to gather his own broken forces and prepare for another siege. "This initial battle was a draw, yes. But I will crush the life-force of these vermin and cleanse this world once of again of the living filth." he thought, before ushering a maniacal laugh as the Nids retreated to the edge of the valley to bide its time.

It ended in a tie, lol, I'm still trying to figure out a way to convey that through narrative. I also need to pay a little more attention to what words im using over and over lol. But I'm definitely glad you all liked it =D
