Human Auxiliary to the Empire

I just gave in to the Warhammer 40k that has been nagging at my resolve for 22 years which is the time that I have played my first game of Space Hulk. I always stayed away from W40k because it was TOO expensive and I tend to go all out. At 43 years old I don`t have a lot of friends to roleplay with but I still have the scenery and the painting bug.
I have been gaming since the first edition of Dungeon and Dragon in 1977. I have bought miniatures from that period onward starting with metal figurines from RAFM.
It was always my dream to be able to build castles and dungeon. I wasn't much into scenery at the time but the interest was there. Then lately I got back into it starting with HirstArts molds and scratch building. As I had no real room to store much of my stuff, a little bit of it went to the trash. Hey, that way I get to make more...
The bug first got me with Lord of the Ring figurines as I love the movie and I figured I could use the figurine in my mostly fantasy genre. Time got the best of me and I didn't explore that venue as much as I would have liked. Anyhow...
The first Warhammer 40k miniatures I bought are three Tau pathfinders that I modded and plan to use in a small diorama. It was to illustrate a space faring race for a Stars games I was playing with friends. Still not finished but it is now back on the burner. The next minis were Kroot soldiers and the latest are a used SM Landspeeder Typhoon and a set of Space Marines of unknown origin.
I've been checking Dakka Dakka on and off since the original custom Thunderhawk model and now that I'm slightly hooked on W40k, I'm here almost every day.
I don't play the game even though my brother was playing nids for a while but I love the scenery.
