So I've been thinking of expanding my list to fifty points and with only one jack I could really use a few more. Then it occurred to me, why not the MoW Kovnik? More so, why not have it jack marshalling a berserker? Better yet, why not two? Has anyone had any experience fielding or playing against this combination? For those that don't know the MoW Kovnik has an ability called Drive. Essentially you make a CMD check and if it passes the jack gets boosted initial attacks for a turn. If failed you don't get the benefits of jack marshalling. What I'm curious is to whether or not the MoW Kovnik can live long enough to make the combination worth it's while.

around these parts it tends to live long enough to do what it has to do
thats cause no one really sees it as a threat. i wouldnt waste time trying to kill it. whats worse is that it tends to get slammed by its own jacks
it can work though and if you pull off something interesting let us know

Hey, I just met you,
and this is crazy,

Wait what, really? Slammed by his own jacks? Talk about respect of authority.

I would actually love my Kovnik if it could do just one more thing for me. In all my games that I used my Kovnik not once did it do any damage. Either he was picked off early in the game or, in most instances, he won't hit the opponent or won't roll enough damage to bypass the opponent's armor. So in honor of it's actions I have rechristened it a Man O War Peacenik.
I'm want to start using mine with a Beserker but I haven't had a chance to try it out yet. In theory it should be a very good and cheap tactical unit.

I would look at a koldun lord over a kovnik for jackmarshaling. He has power booster gets plus 2 arm while in base to base with a marshaled jack and can basically transfer damage from shooting attacks to his jacks. Also comes with battle wizard and a magic shotgun for late game shenanigans.

Yes, I've been thinking of a Koldun lord and a Destroyer as an alternative.

I find the Koldun Lord is the more flexible option, as he's faster AND has the magical shotgun attack (frostbite).
The Kovnik is MUCH COOLER LOOKING though.

The Kovnic needs Reach to go with his giant axe.
I'd go with a Koldun Lord as well.
