I was wondering if anyone knew of any good products that could be used to easily remove plastic that has been bonded by super glue. I recently got some magnets so I would like to take some of the arms off to make them more customizable In particular I'm trying to do this with Killa Kans, which have ball joints, but any help for any type of model would be appreciated! Thanks in advance

Freezing often makes superglue brittle enough to remove.

Are they surface glued or embedded magnets?

I drill the magnets into the plastic, so embedded, I guess?

Well I tried putting it in the freezer last night. so this morning I pulled at the arm, trying to be as gentle as possible, but ended up snapping the arm off instead of the glue :( Luckily I could just glue it back on and paint over any damage, but I still can't put my magnets in :(

Is there a trick to pulling the arm off? Does anyone have any other advice?

Most compounds that debond superglue don't react well to styrene plastics.

There are others that are supposed to work, but I've never tested the efficacy of them, so cannot testify to the veracity of others' claims.

Things like "simple green".

I've seen Simple Green loosen superglue, but usually not until about 3-4 weeks worth of soaking.

Hell, I'm not that bothered by the Stormraven. Why? Because, as it stands right now, it's "limited use".When it's shoehorned in to the Codex: Space Marines, then yeah. I'll be irked.

Nail polish remover. Acetone. Be careful though, it can melt plastic after 10-15 minutes of submersion. I just get a plastic cup(you might need something bigger for a killa kan though)fill it with the stuff, drop the model in there for 30 seconds-1 minute, take it out and pull at the arm/leg/gun in question. If your stripping paint the do the same but brush the model with a toothbrush instead of pulling the joint

^^^Hope that's a help
