So with the Tau army our best killing unit is our Crisis Suits, taking a large number is mandatory for most army lists. So I was thinking about making a Farsight Enclave or just a standard tau army list where you max out the number of crisis suits. so that would be potentially 11 suits minumum, more if you take body guards. So this would be for about 1850 points, more than 1600 but no more than 2000. The crisis suits would just jump shoot jump like crazy all over the board causing havoc. But does anyone else think there would be a way to make this tactic competitive? I mean crisis suits can be fitted to take out transports and infantry, both MEQ and TEQ. I figure set up would be a few death rain teams than the rest would be blade storm. Anybody else think this could be a potentially deadly army?

I will...never be a memory

Farsight enclaves work quite well.

their main weakness is that they don't have tons of Railguns. you are limited to 1 hammerhead and 1 squad of Broadsides, which isn't horrible, but you will want target locks for the Broadsides so they can shoot at seperate targets.

I am still learning my Tau army but I have found that shield drones are mandatory for each team. With the mechanized craze going on there are a lot of lascannons and such on the boards where I play.

I am testing 1750 lists for an upcoming tournament, and have at least 10 suits in each one, if not 12. I would probably take less if I had more Broadsides. But I only have 3 at the moment and can't get anymore from my LGS.

I love the idea, it's just that fire warriors are a vital core, being troops choices, so will be a target for lots of enemy fire meaning that you may need a lot of them if they're to survive and capture the game-winning objectives. But crisis-based armies tend to work, I'm trying one at the moment with only two squads of fire warriors in devilfishes but I can only seem to draw, contesting enemy held objectives with battlesuits, as my fire warriors are all gone, leaving it as all-out annihilation if I want to win.
