Hey all.
So my friend has asked me to make a Dark Apostle for his Word Bearers army. I've got a pretty solid idea of what I want to do, but I don't know how I want to make his Accursed Crozius.
Any ideas?

I'll try and get a pic of my Apostle up soon, but for right now I'd suggest using some of the Chaos Warrior or other Fantasy chaos star bits for the Crozius. If you've read the Horus Heresy book The First Heretic they give a pretty good description of a Word Bearer crozius and you could just base the model off of how you interpret the books imagery.

For mine I just used the Chaos Star insignia that you get in the CSM Box. Works great IMO.

I also use large mauls, like the ones from Ogre Kingdoms range to represent them.

not sure what they would look like but i was looking at these from sanguinary guard sprue as a possible crozius piece

This right here is a great bit to work from, if he's wearing power armor.

If he's wearing Terminator armor, there's a "power maul" in the boxed set that would work as a great base as well.

You can do what I did for my Word Bearers. I used the music instrument from the Chaos Knights box set. It is pretty much a small demon head with an open maw.

Fallenbourne, that looks like some epic weapon from the mmo that everyone loves to hate. Very nice.

The chaos star idea is a good one.

There are also the dragon heads from the chaos vehicle accessory sprues that might work.

I'm working on mine. Started an Anointed army after I read the Word Bearers trilogy. I have pics in my gallery. My warmonger has just undergone a major overhaul and will have new pics of him soon (he got a dreadknight body for christmas). Unfortunately I am using the Space Wolves codex so I can legitimately use all termis, but the goal now is an entire chapter. 1000 marines plus. So don't worry the followers of Lorgar are around.

I made one of these for my buddy for Christmas. While I didn't have a lot of chaos-y bits or painting details, I liked it and so did he!



I used a Dark Angel Veteran model and the power mace with some chaos spikes on the flanges.

But yeah, a Crozius is pretty much just a fancy stick with a fancier thingummy on the end, so you should be able to find a couple of suitable bits in your bits box then glue them together. if you can find a suitable arm already holding a 'stick' of some kind (you can chop it down if too long), that will be even easier and make for a sturdier model.
