I have known for some time how the SM go planet side, with Thunderhawks and drop pods ect.

But how do the Eldar do it? Are they able to land a wraith ship?

And for that matter how do the other factions get their armies down to a planets surface?

Guard have Aquilla Landers among other things.
Dark Eldar just hop on out of the webway.
Chaos, or at the least daemons, likely have someone planetside open a rift for them, whereas chaos marines can likely use old or stolen drop pods to deep strike from their own ships as well..
Tau have landers such as Mantas and Orcas.
Tyranids have an elaborate invasion system in place for their planetside assault, involving waves of progressively nastier creatures landing.

Are we to assume that, for Eldar and Dark Eldar, every planet or place they want to be already has some webway gate on it?

They don't necessarily need a "webway gate" for the Eldar to use the Webway to come out. The Webway is an insulated Warp dimension that can be used, and likely they open up passages to get in there.

They do have fleets of ships also.

Ignore the mention of the Aquila Lander for the Guard, because that thing can barely hold a squad fully equipped. What they tend to use are called "Bulk Landers". Those are the things we see on the cover of the Guard Codex.
They also have something similar to a Drop Pod, but holding two squads rather than a single one.

Eldar have a number of Atmospheric/ void capable fighters and fighter-bombers. I would guess they have interface transports as well on their ships.Might even be something in the forthcoming Imperial Armour 11?? Plus they have teleportation technology.

Most races have something to the landers of the Guard which vary from the Aquilla to the massive Landers that can transport regiments.

Depending on how their mastery of Gravity maipulation works, the Eldar ships may be able to enter the atmosphere /land - although their shape makes this less likely they can land.

I think the Web Way portal is likely prefered but I guess can also make them predictable and they may use other methods if it suits the campaign/ purposes?
