Game 1 vs Tau/Grey Knights
Deployment: Dawn of war
Mission: Annihilation

We won the roll off and deployed first. Their is a giant hill on their side splitting the battle field. I decide to deploy my two genestealer units. One on each flank in area terrain (bad idea fyi). and my Tervigon in the center of the board favoring the right flank. I hold doom in reserves, Prime in reserves, 12 gaunts in reserves.

My ally deploys one unit of 8 plague's in their rhino on the left flank near the center and his lash prince in the middle. He holds 2 oblit units in reserves (bad idea #2).

Are opposing players deploy. 2 units of fire warriors on our right flank on the back line, 1 hq suite. Places 3 units of battle suits in reserve.

Grey knights deploy nothing and reserve 2 units of deepstriking terminators.

I remind my opponent they can roll to steal initiative (fyi Screw my integrity because they get it lol. They go first)

GK/Tau 1: Storm raven comes on 12" on the right flank.
Tau Broadside rolls in on left flank 6"
1 broadside walks on left flank 1" (slow and purposeful.

Shooting see's 2 wounds on my tervigon and he blows up the plague marine rhino on the left flank. (overall a good turn 1 for them)

Nid/CSM 1: My 2 hive guard walk on. One to the right flank. One on the far left flank (Bad idea #3)
CSM 1 oblit walks on the right flank next to the rhino that rolls on and moves 12" and pops smoke.
One lash prince walks on the far right flank.

I spawn gaunts and roll 3x6= 18 guants on turn 1. I move up 6" to get behind my gaunts.
I give the genestealers on the right flank feel no pain and they move up to assault the storm raven.
The 18 gaunts I spawn move up to get in on the enemies fire warriors. The left flank my genestealers move up the the edge of the area terrain just closing the distance to the hammerhead.
CSM the lash prince moves up the hill in the center preparing to lash the fire warriors for the gaunts. Plague marines foot slog towards the broadside in front of them.

Shooting see's fire warriors being lashed close enough to tackle the gaunts. A lot of missing and nothing else done. Genestealers on the right flank run up to get closer to the stormraven.
18 gaunts charge the fire warriors with aid of furious charge and poison from tervigon, fire warriors get slaughtered by the gaunts and the gaunts consolidate up 6" to get in position to go for his other fw squad.
Genestealers scrath some of the paint on the stormraven and nothing happens.

Tau/GK 2: 1 unit of crisis suits comes in as well as 1 unit of terminators.
Terminators deep strike on our left flank and his crisis suits come in right in front of our 1 remaining rhino on the right flank.

Movement:
Storm raven moves up 12" and their HQ(he had 4 wounds) gets out along with 5 grey knights.
The Tau fire warriors move over to rapid fire at the gaunts.
The hammerhead on our left flank just moves 6".

Shooting:
The grey knight squad shoots the genestealers and kills them all the way down to 3 left.
The gaunts get shot up and end up with only 5 gaunts left.
The hammerhead, terminators, and the broadside all shoot at the plague marines. Causing only 2 wounds.
The crisis suits blow up the other rhino, despite its smoke.

Assault:
The genestealers get charged. They kill 2 of the 3 grey knight guys before being whiped out.
The HQ charges my tervigon and instant kills him with a force weapon :(

NID/CSM turn 2:
Doom comes in! Tyranid prime comes in. (12 gaunts do not). Both oblit squads fail to come in.

Doom comes in next to the terminators. The prime comes up in the center of the board looking at the terminators.
The hive guard and the 5 remaining gaunts all three lurk. :(

Move:
The genestealers on the left flank move up trying to get to the hammerhead and the broadside. The plague marines advance on the left flank as well.
The daemon prince in the center moves towards the firewarriors on the right flank.
The Plague marines now on foot on the right flank move up to shoot at the pesky crisis suits.
The daemon prince on the far right flank moves up 12" trying to set up a charge.

Shooting:
Dooms power goes off and the terminators take 2 wounds. (Turns out they can differentiate and have 2 wounds each. Ugh!)
The gaunts shoot the fire warriors and kill 3 of them. (They fail a leadership and run off the board.... GO GAUNTS! lol)
The genestealers on the far left flank run only 2" :( they end up being 1/2" short of charging the hammerhead.
The hive guard on the left shoot the terminators and do no wounds.
The hive guard on the right flank shoot the crisis suits by default and kill one.
The Plague marines on the right flank shoot the crisis suits and kill another. (the remaining suit turns and runs away with no chance of rallying)
The plague marines on the far left flank shoot at the broadside. (Causing only 1 non melta wound)
Both princes successfully cast lash. One moves the hq away from it. The other lashes the 3 grey knights towards it.
The oblits shoot the stormraven and stun it. No shooting yay.

Assaults:
Only the daemon prince against the grey knights gets its assault. (It kills 2 of them and then the daemon hammer does 2 wounds and the prince rolls an 11 for leadership and dissipates back into the warp.)

There is only 4 minutes left in the round but due to the size of the tournament they let another turn go. (we lost the game in this turn.)

Tau/GK 3:
The last terminators come on from reserve and 1 of the two crisis suits teams comes in. The terminators deep strike on the far left flank behind the genestealers and plague marines. The Crisis suit team deep strikes in the center of the board.

Movement: Nothing special here. The remaining grey knight with the hammer runs for cover.
The grey knight HQ heads up the right flank trying to get to the remaining daemon prince. The Gaunts block him atm for getting a charge though.
The Tau HQ moves farther over on the right flank, not interested in meeting the daemon prince.
The terminators that came in last turn surround doom and his pod.
The 1 crisis suit continues to flee.
GK Storm raven turns to shoot its 4 missles at the daemon prince.

Shooting:
Doom fails to wound the terminators.
The 4 missles shoot at the daemon prince, 1 hits, 2 miss, 1 scatters on his own hq. Both the GK hq and the daemon prince take a wound. The auto cannon does 1 more wound to the DP.
The Tau HQ fires at the 5 remaining gaunts and 3 fall to the fire. (Gaunts PASS THEIR leadership of 6 *MVP ALERT*)
All shooting on the left flank shoot the Genestealers, when the smoke clears the brood lord and 1 other stealer are all that remains.
The crisis suits in the middle shoot into the back of the Trygon prime dealing 1 wound and mostly just pissing it off.

Assaults:
Terminators charge doom and his spore and bring down the hammer. The battle is quick and doom takes a nap next to the spore. (the spore eats combat res and dies)
The GK HQ is forced to charge the gaunts and he finishes them off. (for the record they did make him take 1 armor save)

NID/CSM 3:
Only 1 squad of oblits makes it in. It uses the icon to deploy near the storm raven. (should of went left instead to get the Tau hammerhead)

Movement:
Both units of hive guard pass their leadership. The one on the right flank moves up to be able to shoot at either the StormRaven or the last grey knight.
The daemon prince flies over and lands next the a sweating Tau HQ.
The Plague marines on the right flank fail to run far enough and are out of range of everything.
The plague marines on the left flank move up to get a shot at the hammerhead with melta.
Genestealers on the left flank move the final distance towards the broadside and hammerhead.
The Prime now aware of the crisis suits makes his way in there direction.

Shooting:
The prime runs to get closer to the crisis suits.
The genestealers run to get in front of the broadside and hammerhead.
The Plague marines on the left flank whiff and the hammerhead lives.
The oblits on the right flank both fail to bring down the storm raven. Immobilized it. :(
The hive guard on the right flank shoot the last grey knight and cheer as he goes down in a hail of fire.

Assaults:
The Prime Jumps on the crisis suits team and devours them instantly.
The daemon prince charges the Tau hq and splits him in two.
The plague marines on the left flank charge the hammerhead with grenades. (2 pens, no significant damage)
The genestealers charge the broodlord into the broadside and his shield drone while the other stealer charges the hammerhead. (great fail on both parts.) The tau pass their leadership and lock combat.

Game ends:
GK/Tau: 8 kp
NID/CSM: 6 kp

Conclusion: The nids did suprisingly well considering I wasn't planning on being the hammer for this particular tournament. Some bad dice rolling and some good rolling on there half was big. The initiative being lost clearly made a difference. My MVP for my force were the spawned gaunts. 18 gaunts killed 2 units of fire warriors and saved a daemon prince. Their mvp would probably have been the Grey knights squad as it killed the genestealers, some gaunts, and the daemon prince.

Ill post game 2 later this afternoon.

Updated. Let me know if you all are interested in the other 2 matchs. Dunno if you all like the report style I used. I can put more detail into it or less and cover highlights. Whichever is the consensus.

I'm surprised you would reserve one of two sources of synapse. Granted I'm not a nids player, but isn't that fairly important to have? Especially considering you hive guard need it in order to fire at anything meaningful

Doom is in a spore pod. He cant start on the board if he takes one. The synapse was an issue but I didnt think my big guy was in danger quite yet. Grey Knights had a better punch then I expected.
