So I'm working on building my Ork HQs, I'm a little puzzled at the base sizes. A Weirdboy gets the 40mm base, Grotsnik gets the 25mm base, and snikrot who is not an HQ gets the 40mm base.

Thus, After having thus successively taken each member of the community in its powerful grasp and fashioned him at will, the supreme power then extends its arm over the whole community. It covers the surface of society with a network of small complicated rules, minute and uniform, through which the most original minds and the most energetic characters cannot penetrate, to rise above the crowd. The will of man is not shattered, but softened, bent, and guided; men are seldom forced by it to act, but they are constantly restrained from acting. Such a power does not destroy, but it prevents existence; it does not tyrannize, but it compresses, enervates, extinguishes, and stupefies a people, till each nation is reduced to nothing better than a flock of timid and industrious animals, of which the government is the shepherd

It's not that big of a deal. TLOS still applies. The 50% obscured cover save only applies if it's specifically a Monstrous Creature. Base size means virtually nothing.

I was just kind of curious how they decide what, and I mean it would effect coherency and therefore templates slightly I assume.

As far as I can tell, Snikrot gets the 40mm base for pure awesomeness.

All no name ork HQ units are on 40mm base but old mate Grotsnik is an older model from 3rd war for Armegeddon (or their abouts). When Groty was released he came with a 25mm base and as far as I can tell thats what he has now, so thats what you should be using for just him.

These are some of the pictures I enjoy.
